This is a Match Review of Chelsea 1 - 1 Aston Villa game at Stamford Bridge on December 28th 2020. Frank put out a new line up with a number of changes, yet this game was far from our best. According to Lampard, if we played this game a month ago, we would have won. But the Chelsea FC players are in poor form at the moment. We can chalk it up to tiredness or poor form or whatever, but we really do not like to see our football team in a rut. In yesterday's game, I felt that Giroud should have definitely played the entire game and I have no clue why Lampard subbed him off for Werner. The manager's weakness for playing Werner seems to be costing us points, in my opinion. If Werner is in poor form, and he is, he needs to be benched. Pulisic had a good game, but missed 1-2 chances that he just has to score. Unlucky for him. Callum Hudson-Odoi was definitely a bright spark in this game. Giroud has to start going forward. Just like he saved our 2019-2020 season, I think starting him will save this 2020-2021 season as well. Kante looked tired. Jorghino passes but doesn't really provide much to our team. Ben Chilwell looked bright. Rudiger put in a solid performance. Christensen staying down after a light foul was the reason Villa got back in the game.
