Despite a poor first half Rovers entered the break in front thanks to an Adam Armstrong goal before the whistle. Rovers doubled their lead in the second half as a deflected effort from Sam Gallagher gave the hosts some breathing space. Barnsley pushed their way back into the game with a late goal, and without an in form Kamminski between the sticks the points could have been split.
