The Vancouver Canucks faced off against the San Jose Sharks Thursday Night from the SAP Center looking to keep their win streak alive. Dealing with some covid issues Guillaume Brisboues was called up from AHL, but the depleted defense didn't seem to bother the Canucks. After a quick start for San Jose that saw them dominate play. Brock Boeser would open the scoring 12:41 into the game on a nice pass from Tanner Pearson. The Canucks would continue the attack on the powerplay. Just on cue to Shorthouse wanting the powerplay to shot more Bo Horvat would get on the end of a great pass from J.T. Miller for the 2-0 lead. It would last just 59 seconds as Timo Meier would find the puck and beat a screened Thatcher Demko to cut the lead in half. Burroughs bowl over a Shark player into another one. Thatcher Demko would be called upon to make a great save on the breakaway stopping Jayden Halbgewachs. The Canucks would restore their two-goal lead late in the 2nd period after some nice work on the forecheck. Tanner Pearson would do some great work and find J.T. Miller who passed it out to a wide-open Brock Boeser who scored his 2nd goal of the night and 9th on the year. Vancouver would take a 3-1 lead into the 3rd period but San Jose would make a game of it. Andrew Cogliano would walk in and beat Demko for his 3rd goal of the season to make it 3-2. Demko did what he usually does and stood on his head with an amazing save that would lead to a chance for J.T. Miller. He would keep it and wire it past Adin Hill to restore the 2 goal lead.
