The Russian national ice hockey team beat the Czech team and took third place at the first stage of the Euro Tour Karjala Cup. The meeting in Helsinki ended with a score 5:2 (2:0, 2:1, 1:1) in favor of the Russians. Dmitry Voronkov scored a double as part of the winners (18th and 23rd minutes), Alexander Yelesin (4), Nikita Tertyshny (32) and Artem Galimov (58) scored one goal each. Matej Stransky (40) and David Cachet (50) scored against the Czechs. The Czech national team, like the Russians, lost the first two matches at the tournament, so that on the last game day in a face-to-face meeting, the teams played for third place. Confidently, despite the defeat from the Finns, goalkeeper Dmitry Shugaev, who made his debut in the Russian national team, returned to the gates of the national team.
