Georgia Bulldogs vs Alabama Crimson Tide SEC Championship Preview & Predictions - 2021. Nick Saban has done a good job to get to this point with such a young, yet talented team. They've had many stumbling blocks along the way, including plenty of injuries, specifically at the running back position. That got even worse as Brian Robinson suffered a lower body injury in the Iron Bowl against Auburn, just one week prior to this pivotal, must win game against Georgia Football. Trey Sanders doesn't appear to be 100% given all he has gone through (freshman season injury followed by a car accident). However, Bryce Young, who leads the Vegas odds to be the Heisman Trophy winner, has found a way to at the very least give Alabama an opportunity. That, and their rushing defense and John Metchie III at wide receiver, have been phenomenal. Alabama Football will need to play to that full potential if they want to beat this undefeated Georgia Bulldogs team, who by in large appear to be the clear cut favorite to win the 2021 College Football Playoffs. Kirby Smart heads the way with the best team he's had while at the University of Georgia. The squad is quarterbacked by Stetson Bennett, who has been sound all season and has taken care of the football (21 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions). The running game has been down by Georgia standards, but still excellent (25th in the nation). Zamir White and James Cook are a wonderful 1-2 punch in that backfield. The receiving corps has stepped up without George Pickens (who did see some limited playing time the other day against Georgia Tech, but figures to play a minimal role after his injury in the offseason). But mostly it has been the Georgia front 7, which is the biggest reason the Bulldogs flaunt the #1 defense in the nation, that has made them look so dominant. Led by the big man, Jordan Davis, Georgia appears to be relatively unbeatable so long as Stetson Bennett doesn't give the rock to the other team too often. The SEC Championship should be a great one with Georgia as a 6.5-point favorite. If Alabama wins, they're in. If they don't win, they're not. Simple as that! Let's break this one down.
