Does the EU need to care what the British public think about themselves or brexit? In most cases, the answer would be no. British citizens are no longer EU citizens, we have no representation at any level in the EU, and we are not exactly projecting a friendly attitude towards our neighbours. But the EU have a problem with the UK government that is not honouring the brexit treaties, and the EU seem incapable of enforcing the obligations.
