Real Madrid beat Villareal 2-1 at the Alfredo de Stefano in the last game of Laliga. Real Madrid scored late goals against Villareal courtesy of Karim Bemnzema and Luka Modric but that was not enough for Real Madrid to win the Laliga title. Real Madrid players can however hold their head high. Atletico may be champions the but Real Madrid defended the title royally. This was a tough season but Real Madrid were at a point where they were in a position to win the double and the palyers and Zinedine Zidane can be proud of what they have achieved. This was also probably the last match for many of the veterans of the side. Isco, Marcelo, Raphael Varane may be heading towards the exit dooe and Real Madrid may be starting a rebuild very soon.
