Hello and welcome to my journey, today I will react to Aston Villa's 2-0 away loss v Southampton. The Villians were really off the pace today. Southampton controlled the majority of the game and were 100% the better side. Shane Long opened the scoring with a deserved goal. Villa did not respond after that and didn't register a shot on target. Ally Sammata did equalise but he was denied by the offside flag. Dean Smith had to get into the players head at half time. Unfourtnely he didn't do that, and once again Aston Villa went into the second half on the back foot. Southampton had some very good chances to put the game to bed! Deservedly the Saints doubled their lead through Stuart Armstrong. Pepe Renia ran the risk of an open goal as he went up for the corner. Frederic Guilbert couldn't catch Armstrong.
