It was an emotional night in the Moda Center as CJ McCollum returned to face the Portland Trail Blazers for the first time as a member of an opposing team. The New Orleans Pelicans won by double digits in a game that was probably closer than it should have been, but Wednesday night was less about what happened on the court and more about the man who returned to it. McCollum came back to the city where he was drafted and where he spent the first eight-plus season of his NBA career and was greeted with a heroes welcome by Blazers fans inside the arena. Afterward he talked about the emotional toll and the exhaustion that the return trip brought with it.
