They re-signed Zach LaVine. That was the primary objective, and even if you disagree with the max contract LaVine received, his signing stabilized the franchise. He gives the Bulls direction and multiple stars to build around. Chicago didn’t have significant resources to add other free agents beyond veterans Andre Drummond and Goran Dragić. Both players are past their primes but make the Bulls better. The Bulls targeted Gallinari but settled for re-signing forward Derrick Jones Jr. when Gallinari chose Boston. Dalen Terry, the 18th pick in this year’s draft, seems to be a solid selection given his draft position. None of the moves were splashy.
