The Georgetown Hoyas snuck out a 57-56 win in Morgantown versus the Mountaineers of West Virginia, despite trailing most of the game including a 10-point deficit in the second half. The game is most famous for Patrick Ewing Jr's block (or missed goaltend) at the final buzzer that preserved the win for the Hoyas, immediately after Jessie Sapp hit a 3-point shot to give the Hoyas their only lead of the second half. Sapp (15 pt) and Roy Hibbert (12 pt, 10 reb) were the only Hoyas in double-digit scoring. West Virginia were led by the trio of Darris Nichols (16 pts), Alex Ruoff (13 pts) and Da'Sean Butler (12 pts). The Mountaineers came up short at the end of each half, with a 3-point shot waived off at the end of the first half and then the blocked shot at the end of the game.
