Afghanistan required 16 to win off the final over which was to be bowled by Shami. After being hit for a boundary off the 1st ball, Shami started firing yorkers and dismissed the well-set Mohammad Nabi, getting him caught at long-on by Hardik Pandya. Over the next two balls, Shami unleashed 2 lethal yorkers which crashed into the stumps of Aftab Alam and Mujeeb ur Rahman respectively to bring a swift end to Afghanistan's pursuit. Mohammed Shami dismissed Mohammad Nabi, Aftab Alam and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman off consecutive balls in the final over as India secured a thrilling win by 11 Runs.
