Sunderland opened the 2021/22 season with a 2-1 win against Wigan Athletic. Gwion Edwards put Wigan ahead in the 15th minute before Aiden McGeady scored from the penalty spot 90 seconds later. Ross Stewart put Sunderland ahead in the 50th minute and then the game slowly fizzled out. I got a bit carried away at the end and I forgot to do player rating and my man of the match.
