STEVE CLARKE has warned his Scotland players not to blow their World Cup hopes in Torshavn. Three straight wins over Moldova, Austria and Israel have put the Scots in pole position for a play-off place for Qatar 2022. Finishing second in Group F will do that — and Scotland are now four points clear of Israel and Austria. Victories here and in Moldova will secure the runners-up spot. But failure to beat the Faroe Islands — ranked 114 by Fifa — could be disastrous. Clarke said: “The thing that I’ve always tried to take from my career is that if you get one big result, there is no point in messing it up in the next game. “We spoke about that after Austria. The next one was Israel at home and it was, ‘Don’t waste the good work we’ve done in Austria’. “So now we can add the Israel game to that.
