The Tennessee Titans are now 9-5 after a disappointing loss to the Steelers in Pittsburgh. The Titans had a 13-3 lead at halftime and in the second half just could not get anything going and let the Steelers come back to get the 19-13 win. The turnover bug reared its' ugly head for the Titans again this game. The Titans finished the game with 4 total turnovers and had forced two turnovers on the Steelers, that we unfortunately taken away because of penalties on the Titans defense. The Titans defense overall had another elite performance as they held the Steelers to under 200 total yards of offense and kept holding them to field goals when the Steelers got to start their drives on the Titans side of the field. The Titans offense just could not get anything going in the second half as they kept shooting themselves in the foot by turning the ball over. The Titans had success running the ball this game, but in key situations decided to try to pass instead of feeding the running backs and that lead to them being behind the sticks. Now, the Titans are going to have to refocus and regroup on a short week as they welcome a red-hot 49ers team into Nissan Stadium this Thursday night. Let us know your thoughts on this game in the comments. Who do you think deserves the most blame for this loss? How concerned are you about Julio hurting his hamstring again? Are you concerned about if the Titans can hold on and still win the AFC South? The Tennessee Titans defeated the Houston Texans 28-25 and locked up the #1 seed in the AFC for the playoffs. This game was definitely a tell of two halves as the Titans absolutely dominated the first half. The Titans defense was not letting the Texans offense get anything going in the first half, and the Titans offense caught fire and scored 21 points in the second quarter. However, in the second half, the Titans looked very sluggish and allowed the Texans to make a comeback in the game and cut the Titans lead to just three points. When the Titans needed him most though, Ryan Tannehill pulled off the play of the game by escaping a would be sack and finding NWI down the field for a huge gain to keep the Titans next to last drive alive. This eventually lead to Tannehill throwing his 4th touchdown pass on the day. The Titans did, however; let the Texans go back down the field and score to cut it back to a 3 point game. The Titans did what good teams do though and put together a last drive where they were able to run out the clock and secure the win. The road to the Super Bowl for the AFC now goes through Nashville and the Titans now have an extra week to let King Henry rest before unleashing him in the playoffs. The Tennessee Titans defeated the Miami Dolphins 34-3, and clinched back-to-back division titles. Not only were the Titans able to win the AFC South, but with a little help from the Bengals, they were also able to take over the #1 seed in the AFC heading into the final week of the regular season. While the Titans made time to celebrate the division title after the game, they all know that the job is not done yet-- it’s really just beginning. Now they set their sights on clinching the #1 seed in the AFC for the playoffs, and then making a Super Bowl run. In this game, the Titans defense dominated once again as they never let Miami’s offense really get going. Add in a great run game by the Titans, and this game was honestly over by halftime. Let us know your thoughts on this game in the comments, and also let us know if you think the Titans will be able to wrap up the AFC’s #1 seed in the final week of the regular season. The playoffs are just a couple of weeks away, and the Dolphins vs. Titans Week 17 matchup has some big playoff implications. The Dolphins are looking to continue their hot streak, and need to win their last two games to make it into the playoffs. While the Titans are looking to wrap up the AFC South with a win this Sunday, and to stay in the race for the #1 seed in the AFC. The Dolphins started the season 1-7, but have turned their season around going on a 7-game-win-streak, and are now 8-7. The Dolphins also lead the league in sacks. They are going to be doing everything they can to get after Tannehill to keep him from having his revenge game against his former team. The Titans are coming into this game off of a big primetime win against the 49ers on Thursday Night Football. It was a game where we got to see AJ Brown re-introduce himself to the league, and put teams on notice that they better not forget about him. The Titans are going to try to keep AJ rolling this week on their way to hopefully ending not only the Dolphins' win streak, but also their playoff hopes. Will Ryan Tannehill have his revenge game? Will AJ Brown pick up right where he left off in the game against the 49ers? Will the Titans wrap up the AFC South this Sunday? Let us know your thoughts about this game in the comments! The now 9-4 Tennessee Titans took care of business at home with a 20-0 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is the first Titans' shut out at home against a team since the early 2000s. The Titans' defense made sure that they set the tone for the game early on, and they never let up. Over the last couple of games, the Titans' offense have been the ones turning the ball over. This game however, the Titans' defense turned it up another notch, and were able to force 4 turnovers. The Titans' defense was all over the place forcing turnovers, getting sacks/pressure on Trevor Lawrence, and shutting down the Jaguars' run game. The Titans were able to hold the Jaguars to only 8 yards rushing. 8 yards!!!! With all of that being said about the defense, the Titans offense still under-performed given the situation. Yes, the Titans got the ball first to start the game, and were able to drive down the field to score a touchdown on that opening drive. For the majority of the game though, the Titans' offense was very conservative in their play calling--mostly because the Titans' offensive line could not give Tannehill enough time to let plays develop down the field. Although the Titans' defense forced 4 turnovers, the Titans' offense was only able to score 3 points off of those turnovers. Over the next couple of weeks, this definitely needs to be fixed. The Titans' offensive play calling cannot stay so conservative, or predictable. While our defense can keep us in games, the offense needs to be putting up points more consistently. By forcing 4 turnovers, the Titans should've been able to win this game by 30 or more points. Don't get it twisted though, a win is a win. We are glad to see the Titans move to 9-4, and stay 2nd in the AFC. Now the Titans just need to move their focus to beating the Steelers this next week, and if they are able to win that game, they could possibly either be back to 1st place in the AFC or lock up the AFC South division Title. Let us know your thoughts about this game in the comments! What did you think about the Titans' offense? Who do you think the player or players of the game were? The Tennessee Titans are now 8-4 on the season after losing to the Patriots 36-13. The Patriots played their style of football, which is a clean no turnover game. The Titans had a couple of opportunities to force some turnovers, but just weren't able to capitalize. The Titans, however, continued to have self-inflicted mistakes this game. An early penalty kept the Titans from flipping the field on the Patriots. The Patriots were able to start their first drive from the Titans 40 yard line. The turnovers also continued for the Titans this game. The Titans finished the game with 4 turnovers. One of the turnovers was in late garbage time, and really did not have any effect on the outcome of the game. However, two earlier fumbles, and an interception late in the game killed momentum for the Titans' offense. The Titans also faced the oh-so-familiar kicking problems in this game as they missed an extra point and a field goal. Had it not been for all the self-inflicted mistakes on the Titans part, we could be talking about a different outcome to this game. However, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas. One bright spot for the Titans was that for the most part, their running game looked back to normal. Hilliard and Foreman both rushed for over 100 yards, and the Titans finished the game with a total of 270 yards rushing. There is no doubt that the Titans and Titans' fans need this bye week this next week. The Titans are hopefully going to be able to get some rest, heal up, and get refocused after back-to-back losses. There have been some bright spots for the Titans over the last couple of weeks, but they have to fix the mistakes, and not turn the ball over as much. It is very hard to win games when you have 9 total turnovers in the last two games. The Titans are still the 3rd seed in the AFC, and first in the AFC South. With the Colts' loss to the Buccaneers, the Titans' magic number to win the division is down to 3. We have no doubt that the Titans will get it together, and still win the AFC South. When it rains, it pours in Nashville. The Tennessee Titans fell to the Houston Texans with a final score of 22-13. The Titans defense showed up again this game, and held the Texans to under 200 yards of total offense. The Titans offense, along with five total turnovers, though, is what led to their downfall. Ryan Tannehill had what most consider his worst day ever as an NFL quarterback throwing 4 interceptions. Chester Rodgers also had a mental mistake as he muffed a punt, and the Texans were able to take advantage and jump on the loose ball in the redzone. The injury bug also hit the Titans, yet again. Marcus Johnson hurt his hamstring, and is now on season ending IR. AJ Brown hurt his hand early in the game, and then later on got knocked out of the game with a chest injury. This is not the way many Titans fans saw this game going. We were hoping the Titans would take care of business against a much worse opponent, and still be undefeated in the AFC South. The Texans had other plans, though, as they were able to capitalize on the Titans' mistakes. The Titans must now regroup this next week, and get ready to head up to New England to face a red hot Patriots team.
