In the third period David Gilbert sored for Wheeling at 11:10 to give the Nailers their only lead of the night. Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg took the loss with 29 saves on the 32 shots he faced. In the regular season, Toledo was 19-2-0 in games following any loss. Toledo finished the night, 2-5 with the man advantage.
