The South Carolina Gamecocks offensive line was severely overmatched in Saturday night’s 44-14 loss at Texas A&M. A glance through the final stat sheet doesn’t tell the entire story. The Aggies had seven tackles for loss, including three sacks. That part checks out. But the three quarterback hurries? Somebody must’ve quit counting. “We’ve certainly got some issues we’ve got to figure out,” coach Shane Beamer said. “And give Texas A&M some credit. This was the best defense – no disrespect to Kentucky or anybody else we’ve played, but this is the most impressive group, personnel-wise, that we’ve played since Georgia. ... Being down a little bit and not having (Dylan) Wonnum out there certainly didn’t help, but we’ve got confidence in the guys we had out there tonight. And got to perform better. They were definitely heating us up, but they were also sacking us when they were rushing four as well and not having to bring pressure.”
