The depleted Super Eagles team left Cape Verde with maximum points after winning 2-1 in a hard-fought encounter against our closest challengers in Group C of our World Cup Qualifying group on Tuesday with Chidera Ejuke, Kingsley Michael & Jamilu Collins in particularly impressive form while Victor Osimhen scored his 1st goal of the qualifying campaign. The win means Nigeria has 6 points from 2 games and stands us in good stead heading into the Home & Away games against the Central Africa Republic in October & maximum points from those games should put us on the brink of topping the group and therefore qualifying for the Playoff legs where we would likely be a seeded team as long as we maintain our position as one of the top 5 ranked teams in Africa. In other news, the NFF wrongfully celebrated 100 caps for Ahmed Musa before FIFA clarified that he actually has 98 caps for the Super Eagles but he’ll probably reach the mark in the October Qualifiers even if it’s from the substitutes bench.
