Then a three-over assault from Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Sams gave Australia a chance to pull off a come-from-behind win in chase of 219. Eventually, the hosts walked away with a four-run win and a 2-0 series lead after James Neesham defended 15 in the final over. Martin Guptill returned to form with 97 while Kane Williamson struck a half-century. Neesham (45* off 16) provided the late push with the bat which proved to be just enough for New Zealand to stay ahead.
