Melbourne City - 2021 A league premiers - VAR controversy
Melbourne City v Central Coast Mariners This video is my commentary of the match and the controversy around how VAR has impacted the outcome of the game. I believe that the video assisted referee technology has again had a negative impact on a game result that actually has some significance on the bearing of the a league season in terms of hosting finals and potentially spots in Asia for the champions league. The 3 goal scoring events that I discuss all occur in the second half including: Craig Noone goal, Jamie Maclaren disallowed goal and Mark Birightti overturned penalty. Stepping back from the role of VAR this was a really high quality game, and it was a shame to see VAR impact it in such away #football #soccer #aleague #city #ccm

In the final home game of the regular season MacArthur Bulls FC goal keeper saves 85th minute penalty taken by Wellington Phoenix Striker Tomer Hemed. Adelaide United V Sydney FC Highlights and Review - 29 May 2021
Round 25 clash between Sydney FC and Adelaide United in the Australian A league. This was an important game for working out final placements on the ladder from second through to six coming into the final series. Coming into the game both Adelaide and Sydney were a chance of finishing second still. Sydney very much controlled the game and deservedly came out winners 4-1. Adam Lefondre scored a double, Bobo and Patrick Wood also got goals. Adelaide United scored a late goal through substitute Yaya Dukuly. Jordan Elsey received a red card (2 yellows) - which means if Adelaide happen to drop out of the top six it may have been his last game in the a league. This is also the last match for Sydney FC backline players Rhyan Grant, Ryan McGowan and Andrew Redmayne who will be going to play World Cup qualifiers for the socceroos (causing them to miss the final week of the competition and Final series).
