The No.10 Wolverines (9-0) absolutely dominated Northwestern yesterday, and this basketball team looks special. The question is- is this a fluke or is this team legit ready for a championship? The Pistons got a huge road win in a heated contest vs. Jalen Green and the Rockets. Cunningham showed improvement and confidence, and there is a lot to like about where his game is headed. Bey and Grant also stepped up, as usual. If the offensive flow and chemistry can improve, this team can build some confidence going into 2022-23. As for Michigan, they held off a big run from Buffalo to win 88-76. Moussa Diabite and Caleb Houstan look as good as advertised, and they will add a lot of depth to a team that is already laden with talent. I expect the defense to get better, but Howard has proven that he can improve a team over the season. I anticipate a lot of wins.
Western Michigan blew yet another opportunity to win the MAC. Despite dominating the game statistically, WMU fell to Ball State 30-27, as the Broncos were outscored 17-0 in the fourth quarter. The biggest headline of the game was the final play, where WMU almost scored on a Stanford-Cal Band type play. ESPN cut out while the penalties were being assessed, which was really bothersome. I still don't know how it wasn't offsetting penalties. Looks like Tim Lester is like WMU's Jim Harbaugh in that he can't win big games, despite the amount of talent Broncos usually have on their roster. Lots of frustration in Kalamazoo.
