WFT beats the Atlanta Falcons 34-30, Ravens Set a Record, Washington Capitals Season Preview

The Washington Football Team beat the Atlanta Falcons in a must-win game 34-30! However, it wasn't pretty, the defense still stinks and Dustin Hopkins, our kicker, struggled mightily in this game. Should we look to replace him? LC provides a creative solution that could actually work! The NHL returns next week! How are our Washington Capitals looking for this season? What are the expectations for the season? Matt Regan breaks it down for us. Then we jump into the "No Hate Debate". The Baltimore Ravens ran for over 100 yards for the 43rd consecutive game, tying the Pittsburgh Steelers for the NFL record. They did it on the last play of the game when the game was already decided. Do you have a problem with it? We go around the horn to dicuss this, and what other unwritten rules of sports should go away? We conclude the episode with the State of the Union, your DC Sports wraparound coverage segment, covering the Washington Spirit, DC United, Wizards and Caps. #TaylorHeinicke #DustinHopkins #Caps TIMECODES: 0:00 Intro 1:27 MLB Playoffs 10:53 WFT Beats Atlanta 26:16 Washington Capitals Preview 33:48 No Hate Debate 50:43 State of the Union

Washington Football Team Preview Show: State Of The Union, Dallas Defeat, Philly Prediction

The Washington Football Team Preview Show changed this week. The loss to Dallas was so bad that it needs to be talked about. We take the time to reflect and grieve after the loss a full 4 days later. We get into all the elements of it, including Taylor Heinicke's performance and Scott Turner's playcalling, the benches, Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne, as well as Payne's IG drama. We discuss a new episode series we're putting together over the offseason. We are going to get into the makings of a successful NFL franchise. We talk general philosophy, roles and responsibilities, and then do a deep dive into each actor here in our franchise (Owner, GM, Team President, Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator) and see if we're all on the same page across the board and have genuine reasons for optimism moving forward. What are the Washington Football Team's playoff chances? KDot and Amit confirm with each other that they're not delusional, but still talk about what could happen if Washington wins their last coupld games against the Philadelphia Eagles and the Daniel Jones-less New York Giants. The episode concludes with picks for the Philadelphia Eagles game. Will the Washington Football Team prevail?? Washington Football Team @ Dallas Cowboys Week 16 Preview! NFC Playoff Race + Injuries + Prediction
Washington Football Team @ Dallas Cowboys Week 16 Preview! NFC Playoff Race + Injuries + Prediction

The Washington Football Team, riddled by COVID, fell to the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday Night Football by a score of 27-17. They are now 6-8 behind the aforementioned Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints, all of whom are now 7-7 on the season with 3 weeks left to play. This episode is all about the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. We begin by discussing the injury report. The big loss here is Cole Holcomb testing positive for COVID. By the numbers, he's a top 12 LB in the NFL and the QB of our defense. He will be sorely missed, but it does give Jamin Davis a golden opportunity to step up and have a big game. Other injuries include S/LB Landon Collins, RB Antonio Gibson, CB William Jackson III and DE Daniel Wise. Returning for the team are QBs Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen, LBs David Mayo and Milo Eifler, TE Temmarick Hemingway, S Kamren Curl, and CB Kendall Fuller (news broke Friday morning after this recording of Curl, Fuller, Eifler and Allen all returning). The Cowboys, meanwhile, are quite healthy, potentially missing only OT Tyron Smith. On the offensive side of the ball, it will be AWESOME to have QB1 aka Taylor Heinicke back starting for us. What can we expect? KDot preaches that we must go back to what got us that winning streak and run the ball in order to have success. Amit agrees, but also thinks this could be a big game for Taylor Heinicke. Most importantly, we have to limit turnovers. The Cowboys have generated 12 turnovers in their last 3 games. Don't turn it over, and we've got ourselves a solid chance of winning. On the defensive side of the ball, we have to stop the run. If we can't do that, it's over. This is where the loss of LB Cole Holcomb is HUGE. Jamin Davis and David Mayo are going to have to step up, especially if Landon Collins can't go (he had 2 turnovers himself on Tuesday). Stop the run, and then slow down the daunted Dallas Cowboys passing attack. A tall order, but it must be done if we want to keep our slim playoff hopes alive. Speaking of playoff hopes, how's the NFC playoff race looking? If we win out, what are our chances? Amit and KDot discuss. As always, we have predictions on the show. Who wins this Sunday Night showdown? KDot and Amit provide you with their picks. Washington Football Team @ Philadelphia Eagles Preview Show! Game Breakdown + Predictions
Washington Football Team @ Philadelphia Eagles Preview Show! Game Breakdown + Predictions

The Washington Football Team (6-7) take on the Philadelphia Eagles (6-7) in a special Tuesday night football game due to a COVID outbreak for our squad. The NFL moved the game from Sunday to Tuesday to allow us the chance to get some of our players back, more specifically, a QB in the form of Kyle Allen or Taylor Heinicke. The Philadelphia Eagles have had an easy schedule this season and have been largely inconsistent, led by QB Jalen Hurts. Last time out, it was actually QB Gardner Minshew that led them to victory over the lowly New York Jets. We break down the Eagles season to date, and what their strengths and weaknesses as a team. The injury report for the Washington Football Team is massive. Over 15 players are currently sidelined due to COVID alone, and there are a still a couple others like JD McKissic and Curtis Samuel that could miss it for physical injury reasons. How will those injuries impact our chances of beating the Eagles in this must-win game? Looking at the WFT Defense against the Eagles offense, this is the 1st time we're going against a team with a speedy QB that is actively involved in the run game. In fact, the Eagles run the ball more than any other team. How are we going to handle that? How does COVID affect our ability to properly defend the Eagles? We discuss the importance of Landon Collins being able to play closer to the line of scrimmage, and how sorely we are going to miss CB Kendall Fuller. On offense, we are truly left in the dark without either Taylor Heinicke or Kyle Allen at QB. Will one of them come back in time to be able to play this must-win game? If they can't go, who will start at QB for the team? We discuss Kyle Shurmur and Garrett Gilbert primarily as options. Aside from them, who else do we need to step up? Enter Anotnio Gibson. This could be a BIG day for the star RB. We conclude the show with game predictions. Will we take this must-win game? Or will we fall short and have to begin planning for the offseason? #TaylorHeinicke #KyleAllen #WFTCovid TIMECODES: 0:00 Welcome 1:43 Philadelphia Eagles Overview 10:15 Injury Report 16:07 WFT Defense vs PHI Offense 24:55 WFT Offense vs PHI Defense 43:51 Game Predictions

WFT Preview Show! Carolina Panthers vs Washington Football Team, Week 11 NFL Game Preview
WFT Preview Show! Carolina Panthers vs Washington Football Team, Week 11 NFL Game Preview

After an incredible victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday, our Washington Football Team (3-6) travels to Bank of America Stadium to take on the Carolina Panthers (5-5), reenergized by the return of QB Cam Newton. The Panthers overview touches on the energy that Cam Newton has brought to their team, how underrated their defense is, and looking at what they've done in the last 3 games. When the Panthers have been healthy (Stephon Gilmore and Christian McCaffrey both playing), they have been rock solid. When McCaffrey plays, Carolina is 4-1 on the season. When Stephon Gilmore has played (last 3 games), they're allowing an average opponent passer rating around 67, which is good for 2nd best in the NFL. We jump into the WFT Offense, led by Taylor Heinicke, against the Carolina Panthers defense. What do we need to do in order to achieve success against the Panthers? Do we let Taylor be Taylor and air it out? Or do we stick to the run as strongly as we did last week with Antonio Gibson, Jaret Patterson, and JD McKissic? KDot and Amit discuss the importance of chewing clock and keeping the chains moving in this game. Switching sides of the ball, what about their offense against our defense? Will Cam Newton start against us? If so, do we focus on stopping him, or should we put more of the focus on Christian McCaffrey? KDot and Amit also discuss the loss of Chase Young, as well as missing Montez Sweat for another game. The show concludes with predictions. Carolina is favored by 3.5 points with an Over/Under of 43.5 points. Amit correctly picked Washington to beat Tampa Bay last week - will he get it right again? WFT + Taylor Heinicke Is NOT The Answer, All-Blacks Destroy USA Rugby, Wizards Are FUN + NBA Talk!

Join Amit, Matt and LC as they discuss Taylor Heinicke and the Washington Football Team, the New Zealand All-Blacks destroying USA Rugby at FedexField, how fun the new-look Wizards have been to root for so far, and what the best pregame rituals are in sports! Amit didn't want to cover it, but Matt made him by guiding him through some questions about the disastrous Washington Football Team. They are now 2-5 and going nowhere fast. Is Taylor Heinicke still a franchise QB in Amit's mind? What about the rest of the team? Is there anything to look forward to for the rest of the season and what is the new definition of "success" for them? The New Zealand Rugby team, known as the "All-Blacks" did whatever they wanted against our USA Rugby team, winning by a whopping 90 point margin (104-14)! LC, our resident rugby expert, talks us through a few moments of the game and creates an analogy for us to better contextualize and understand the ass-whooping that took place this past weekend. The Washington Wizards are now 2-1 on the season and are FUN TO WATCH! How are we feeling about the new acquisitions of Spencer Dinwiddie, Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope? What are our expectations for the rest of the season? We pivot from tackling about just the Wizards to discuss the NBA in general, covering Ben Simmons, Cade Cunningham, the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls. Would Matt trade Cade Cunningham for Ben Simmons? There are a number of pregame rituals in sports, but which ones are the best ones? We go around the horn giving you not only our favorite rituals, but some of our favorite pregame introductions as well. We conclude, as we always do, with the State of the Union, the DC Sports wraparound coverage segment, this week covering the Washington Wizards, Capitals, Spirit, DC United and the Football Team. WFT Preview Show! New Orleans Saints vs Washington Football Team Preview, Predictions + Week 5 Picks

The Washington Football Team (2-2) play host to the unpredictable New Orleans Saints (2-2) this Sunday at 1pm on CBS, led by QB Jameis Winston and superstar RB Alvin Kamara. We begin with a general overview of the New Orleans Saints and the 4 games they have played so far. They beat the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots, but fell to the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants. What can we expect from them this Sunday? How about the rest of the season? We discuss Jameis Winston, Alvin Kamara, Demario Davis, Deonte Harris, Marshon Lattimore, Marcus Williams and more! Then we quickly jump into the injury report, where our Washington Football Team is hurting BADLY. We may be without Dyami Brown, Curtis Samuel and Cam Sims in our WR corps. Add the fact that Logan Thomas is missing the game, and Taylor Heinicke is suddenly in a new position of having to ball out without his usual weapons. Brandon Scherff has also missed 2 straight practices. On the flip side, the New Orleans Saints could be without their starting center, Erik McCoy, and left tackle, Terron Armstead, for the 2nd straight game. Can we take advantage of that? We transition into the WFT defense vs the New Orleans offense. Jameis Winston is balling with 3 games over a 110 passer rating and is 4th in the NFL in QBR, but did you know that the Saints lead the league in rush play percentage at 58%? That means it is critical we stop Alvin Kamara, who is receiving career high carries by the week. Will the defense finally wake up?? Flipping sides to the WFT offense vs the New Orleans defense. Taylor Heinicke has been nothing short of spectacular this season. From backup QB to legitimate starter, what does he need to do to help us win this game? Will we be able to run the ball on the Saints? They are 3rd in the NFL in yards allowed per attempt on the ground. We have a guest on the podcast this week, Thomas Carter (@Carter4Mayor), who went 15/15 on his parlay picks and turned $11 into over $50,000! He walks us through the emotional rollercoaster ride of the parlay, whether he thought about hedging his bets, and what it was like rooting for the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
