The Otago Volts have suffered a home loss against the Knights from Northern Districts, in Round #5 of the Ford Trophy. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, the Volts found themselves chasing the game thanks to a solid batting effort from the Knights. Nathan Smith (3-58 off 10.0) the pick of the bowlers, as the Knights batted their overs for 323/9. Nick Kelly (47), Nathan Smith (81) and Michael Rippon (57) put up a valiant effort with the bat, but it wasn't to be enough, as the Volts were bowled out 40 runs short. #OurOtago #ChargedUp

The Otago Volts held their nerve against the Northern Knights to secure a 6-wicket win in the 2019-20 Dream11 Super Smash. Chasing 179 to win, the Volts top order were all able to chip in to help get within reaching distance of the target. The Otago Volts have registered their first loss in the Ford Trophy against the Auckland Aces this past Sunday. Michael Rae's record breaking 7/35 (10 overs) spearheaded the Volts bowling effort, managing to restrict Auckland to 246 on a good Eden Park Outer Oval wicket. Chasing 183 in a rain effected match (20 overs per innings), the Volts' knocked off the total on the back of some clean striking from Hamish Rutherford (97 off 59 balls), Anaru Kitchen (31 off 13 balls), and Josh Finnie (21 off 12 balls).
