L’ace di Grozer e il successivo errore di Petrov creano il primo strappo tra le due squadre (9-5) e Coach Cuttini chiama la prima interruzione di gioco. La Kioene rimane a contatto e impatta sul 13-13 dopo un bell’attacco di Petrov. A questo punto è Monza a chiamare time out: si prosegue punto a punto, la battuta a lato di Weber tiene a galla i padroni di casa, ma la schiacciata out di Grozer regala il primo set a Padova. Nel secondo set la squadra di Eccheli parte forte e doppia i patavini (8-4) con il muro di Grozer. Cuttini ferma la partita ma la Vero Volley continua a servire bene; con i soliti Grozer e Davyskiba arriva al massimo vantaggio (19-12). L’allenatore bianconero cambia la diagonale dando spazio a Zoppellari e Schiro, ma i brianzoli tengono e allungano fino al definitivo 25-14 che rimette tutto in parità. L’avvio del terzo set è a due volti: Padova sale subito 3-0, i padroni di casa infilano 5 punti consecutivi e rimettono la freccia. Da qui in poi è un monologo bianconero: il muro di Bottolo apre le porte del parziale alla squadra di Cuttini, Weber sale in cattedra mettendo a segno 4 ace e Padova si ritrova sul +8 (13-21). Monza non riesce a ricucire lo strappo e l’attacco di Zimmermann dà il primo punto del match agli ospiti: 17-25. La quarta parte di gara vede cominciare meglio nuovamente la Kioene: il doppio ace di Weber porta i bianconeri sul 4-7. I padroni di casa si riportano avanti grazie al muro di Grozer su Weber (8-7). La sfida prosegue punto a punto fino al 21-20 quando l’ace di Dzavoronok regala il break a Monza. Cuttini chiama time out, ma la squadra di Eccheli regge il tentativo di recupero di Padova e pareggia di nuovo i conti con Grozer.
