In 1998, the Philadelphia Eagles attempted to sign San Francisco 49ers DT and reigning AP Defensive Player of the Year Dana Stubblefield, and were even the favorites to do so considering Stubblefield's connection to Eagles head coach Ray Rhodes. However, when the two sides met, it was such a disaster that not only did Stubblefield not wind up signing in Philly, but he bashed everything about the team facilities and Veterans Stadium along the way. This is the story behind this absolutely disastrous visit that, oddly enough, may have been a blessing in disguise NOTE: As a couple of people have pointed out, I have no idea why I said "first title" in franchise history when talking about the 49ers.
