Ruta: Logroño - San Martín de Berberana
07 noviembre 2010 El día amanece con frío otoñal y escapándose algunas gotas de agua. A las 9:30 AM, acudimos a la cita dominical, en las inmediaciones de la Rotonda del Olivo: Rubén, Esteba, Sodupe y Jesús. En un primer momento surge la duda, si realizar la "Ruta del Mantible" organizada por la Peña Sandalio o ante la amenaza de lluvia coger el camino del GR 99 y darnos la vuelta en cuanto lloviera más intensamente. Decidimos realizar esta última y nos dirigimos hacia el Parque del Ebro, para seguir por el Parque de la Rivera y posteriormente por la pasarela del río Iregua, llegar a las huertas de Varea. Siguiendo el Camino de Santiago del Ebro, llegamos hasta Recajo y por la antigua entrada de la base militar, cruzamos la N-232 para seguir por ella hasta la curva del río Leza el cual cruzamos para seguir hasta Agoncillo, donde paramos un rato junto al castillo de Aguas Mansas. Mientras estábamos descansando, apareció nuestra amiga Virginia, la cual aparte de ofrecernos café, nos dio todo tipo de información sobre el castillo y la torre de la iglesia, e indicándonos el camino más idóneo para llegar hasta Arrubal, siguiente punto de destino. Una vez que llegamos al regadío de Arrubal, vimos un cartel informativo del GR-99, que indicaba Alcanadre 17 Km y decidimos proseguir un poco más y por un camino entre árboles llegamos a las proximidades de la Finca de San Martín de Berberana, donde comenzamos el camino de regreso, con un fuerte viento en contra. Entramos a Arrubal por una calle que pasa junto a las piscinas municipales y proseguimos hasta enlazar con el camino que lleva hasta Agoncillo, donde tiramos por la calle de la ermita hasta la ribera del río Leza, el cual cruzamos por unas piedras, puestas a modo de pasarela, las cuales son utilizadas por los peregrinos que realizan esta ruta. Nuevamente, cogemos durante un para de kilómetros la N-232 y a la altura de la base de Recajo, enlazamos con el camino que nos lleva hasta Varea y de aquí, al Parque de la Rivera y del Ebro, hasta el bar Boca-Boca en la calle Ronda de los Cuarteles, donde damos por concluida la ruta, tomándonos unas cañas y unos sabrosos morros.
