From Ohrid to Skopje by bicycle
From Ohrid to Skopje by bicycle

I gave a workshop at Codefest in Ohrid recently and took the chance to cycle to Skopje to pickup my friend and continue our bikepacking journey to Bansko, where I can work for a little while in the Coworking and recharge with fresh mountain air. It's a wonderful route form Ohrid to Skopje that leads through Mavrovo national park. It feels like a little paradise and I saw a baby bear on the side of the road (luckily I didn't meet the mother). The road condition is really great and there are also some hotels where you can stay overnight. I stayed at hotel "Tutto" in Janche https://goo.gl/maps/VETEDDY7w3M2 wich was really nice with a great slow food restaurant. Depending on your fitness level, you can make another overnight stop at Tetovo, about 40km from Skopje and have a nice 3 day trip altogether. If you want to cycle yourself, here you can find the route on strava https://www.strava.com/routes/12962260 or on google maps https://goo.gl/QdLndM
