Reacting to Georgia beating Michigan in College Football Playoff (Orange Bowl) A very boring, chalky semifinal round to the playoffs ended on Friday night with Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs dropping Jim Harbaugh's Michigan Wolverines 34-11 in the Orange Bowl. The blowout game ended several hours after Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide topped the Cincinnati Bearcats 27-6. That means the National Title game is a rematch of the SEC Championship Game between Alabama and Georgia. The Orange Bowl was even more disappointing than the Cotton Bowl. The Bulldogs scored points on their first six drives en route to a 27-3 halftime lead. Michigan turned the ball over on downs several times and squandered a red zone opportunity because of an interception. The Wolverines only scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter once Smart put plenty of backup defenders in the game. Derion Kendrick intercepted Cade McNamara twice as Georgia’s defense returned to its dominant form. Stetson Bennett played exceptionally well, and running back James Cook amassed over 140 yards from scrimmage. Michigan never got a foothold. The first round of the College Football Playoff stunk. #collegefootballplayoff #cfb #cfbplayoff #georgia #georgiabulldogs #michiganwolverines #michiganfootball #michigan #georgiafootball #collegefootball #orangebowl
