During the 1930s the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, a college football team representing Louisiana Tech University, played in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association until 1939, when the team played in the Louisiana Intercollegiate Conference (LIC). The Bulldogs' best performance that decade was in 1931, when they won all their matches.

Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football, 1980–89

During the 1980s the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team twice won the Southland Conference, then left that Conference in 1986, joining the newly created non–football American South Conference as a charter member, becoming an independent team playing in NCAA Division I. The team reached the finals of the Division I-AA Championship in 1984.

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs basketball program, nicknamed the Dunkin' Dawgs, represents intercollegiate men's basketball at Louisiana Tech University. The program competes in Conference USA in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and plays home games at the Thomas Assembly Center in Ruston, Louisiana.
