Erick terlihat duduk berdampingan dengan Infantino. Keduanya fokus menyaksikan laga, sambil sesekali berbincang mengenai jalannya pertandingan tersebut. Ketua Umum PSSI, Erick Thohir, dengan tegas memberikan penghargaan kepada Timnas Indonesia U 23 atas keberanian dan mental yang mereka tunjukkan dalam menghadapi tim tangguh Guinea U 23. Menurutnya, keberanian itulah yang dimiliki oleh tim nasional indonesia U 23 merupakan suatu pencapaian yang patut dipuji, terutama mengingat lawan yang mereka hadapi memiliki postur fisik yang lebih besar. Erick Thohir menyatakan, "Saya sangat bangga dengan keberanian dan semangat juang yang ditunjukkan oleh Timnas Indonesia U-23 dalam pertandingan melawan Guinea U-23. Meskipun dihadapkan pada lawan yang memiliki postur fisik yang kuat, para pemain tidak gentar dan tetap bermain dengan penuh semangat dan determinasi." ujarnya disela pertandingan timnas indonesia u 23 sedang berlangsung. Pernyataan ini menunjukkan bahwa Erick Thohir sangat mengapresiasi semangat juang yang ditunjukkan oleh para pemain, meskipun mereka dihadapkan pada situasi yang sulit. Baginya, sikap pantang menyerah dan keberanian untuk menghadapi tantangan adalah kualitas yang sangat penting bagi setiap atlet.
