Gangwon FC

Gangwon FC is a South Korean football club. Based in Gangwon Province of South Korea, Gangwon FC joined the K League as its 15th club for the 2009 season.

2009 Gangwon FC season

The 2009 season was Gangwon FC's first ever season in the K-League in South Korea. Gangwon FC competed in K-League, League Cup and Korean FA Cup.

The 2010 season was Gangwon FC's second season in the K-League in South Korea. Gangwon FC will be competing in K-League, League Cup and Korean FA Cup.

Gangwon Province or Gangwon-do was one of the Eight Provinces of Korea during the Joseon Dynasty. The province was formed in 1395, and derived its name from the names of the principal cities of Gangneung (강릉; 江陵) and the provincial capital Wonju (원주; 原州).
