South Western Districts (cricket team)
South Western Districts, known as SW Districts or SWD, is a South African first class cricket team based in the Western Cape city of Oudtshoorn, representing approximately the eastern half of Western Cape province. They form part of the Cape Cobras franchise, and play their home games at the Oudtshoorn Recreation Ground.

The Eastern Cape redfin is an African freshwater fish species in the family Cyprinidae., this appears to be a species complex rather than a single species.It is endemic to the Sundays, Swartkops and Baakens river systems of the Eastern Cape, South Africa, the fish in other rivers in the region have been suggested to belong to different species with four different lineages recognised, a forest lineage which appears to be more closely related to Pseudobarbus phlegethon of the Olifants River than the other lineages traditionally classified within P. afer, the other lineages are the "St Francis" lineage which occurs in the rivers flowing into St Francis Bay and has been given the name Pseudobarbus swartzi, the Krom lineage Pseudobarbus senticeps from the Krom River system and the "Mandela" lineage Pseudobarbus afer sensu stricto. All of these populations are becoming rare due to habitat destruction and the impact of invasive species especially exotic bass of the genus Micropterus.Pseudobarbus afer prefers clear rocky pools in the rivers it inhabits.

Eastern Cape v Contract Props, is an important case in the South African law of lease, where Eastern Cape entered into a contract of lease with the respondent, without complying with or without making use of procedures prescribed by the Provincial Tender Board Act. Section 4 of the Provincial Tender Board Act provides, inter alia, that the tender board established in terms of the Act shall have the sole power to procure supplies and services for the province, and, subject to the provisions of any other Act of the provincial legislature, to arrange the hiring or letting of anything or the acquisition or granting of any right for or on behalf of the province, and to dispose of movable provincial property, and may for that purpose—(a) on behalf of the province conclude an agreement, which shall be in writing, with a person within or outside the Republic for the furnishing of supplies and services to the province or for the hiring or letting of anything or the acquisition or granting of any right for or on behalf of the province or for the disposal of movable provincial property; (b) with a view to concluding an agreement referred to in para (a), in any manner it may deem fit, invite offers and determine the manner in which and the conditions subject to which such offers shall be made.

The Eastern Province Separatist League was a loose political movement of the 19th century Cape Colony. It fought not for independence, but for a separate colony in the eastern half of the Cape Colony independent from the Cape government, with a more restrictive political system and an expansionist policy eastwards against the remaining independent Xhosa states.
