Fixing the Cincinnati Reds in Four Moves
Fixing the Cincinnati Reds in Four Moves

The Cincinnati Reds can be a winning ball club in 2022, if they do four things. Jeff tells you what the four things are while Steve pokes holes in his plan on today's podcast. They also talk about the Bengals playoff victory (Jeff was there) and the Reds international signings over the past few days. There are four things, two players leaving and two being acquired, that can set the Reds up for success in 2022. The Reds should trade away Mike Moustakas and his large contract. The Reds should trade away Sonny Gray for a prospect ready to play in the Major Leagues this year, or next. The Reds should sign a closer. To finish out this simple plan, the Reds should sign a starting-caliber outfielder. The problems are, it won't be easy to trade Mike Moustakas, if impossible, for the Reds. It's too early for the Reds to trade Sonny Gray. The Reds front office will not pay for a closer, instead they will rely on waiver claim pitchers and retreads to get them through the year. The Reds will not fork over the necessary money to sign a starting-caliber outfielder. The city of Cincinnati finally got its first taste of playoff success in more than two decades as the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Las Vegas Raiders, and Jeff was there to see it. He briefly talks about that day in the final segment. He and Steve also look at a few of the Reds signings from the International Prospect Pool and what it all means for the franchise. *FOLLOW* the podcast on your favorite app and on Twitter and Instagram @lockedonreds Also follow @jefffcarr on Twitter and @carrjefff on Instagram Call or text (513) 549-0159 Check out the audio version of the podcast at https://linktr.ee/jefffcarr
