Game 51, the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Vancouver Canucks, again and yet for the last time this 2021 season. The Canucks struck early but that was their lone goal. The Maple Leafs followed with 5 of their own! Leafs win!
Game 50 with the Toronto Maple Leafs taking on the Vancouver Canucks! The Maple Leafs opened the scoring in the first. Followed by two more in the second. The Canucks finally put one in past Rittich at this point. The Leafs wrapped things up with a late goal by Mitch Marner. Oh hey, did I mention there was a fight in the first period between Wayne Simmonds and Alex Edler???!! Edler took his lumps and balance was restored! Leafs win!
Yet another big game featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs vs the Winnipeg Jets! The Jets came out flying and got a goal early, but it was all Maple Leafs after that. This Leafs fan was very happy to witness Jumbo Joe Thornton get a goal on the wrap around tonight! That goal making Thornton the oldest Maple Leaf to score a goal! Mitch Marner tallied himself a goal as well (His 100th goal of his career)! John Tavares continues his point streak with a goal tonight and Alex Kerfoot popped in an empty netter, with some big help from his winger Ilya Mikheyev. New comers Adam Brooks and Rasmus Sandin both had strong showings and have made an excellent case to stick around! There is now an 8 point spread between the Leafs and Jets. Leafs win!
The Toronto Maple Leafs have managed to embarrass themselves yet again. The Maple Leafs did not start well, but did manage to take a 1-0 lead into the second period. The Vancouver Canucks countered with two goals of their own and John Tavares scored his second goal of the game to bring the Leafs even headed into the third period. I can't even bring myself to tell you about the third...Watch the video and see sadness, despair, anger, grief, madness...basically a partial loss of sanity. Leafs lose....thanks Rittich...(Sigh).
The Vancouver Canucks are back playing hockey after a 23 days COVID recovery and precaution period! Surely the Canucks do not stand a chance of winning against the first place Toronto Maple Leafs?! If you thought that, you are a fool because this is the Maple Leafs! The Leafs had Matthews and Nylander back, both making an impression, each tallying a goal. Jack Campbell had himself a rough game; letting in 3. 2 of which, he probably should have had! Joe is distraught, James jynxed us and Ox has some interesting thoughts on coaching in regards to OT. Get it together boys! Leafs Lose.
Game 44 was a big one featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs at home against the Winnipeg Jets! With the Jets just 5 points back of the Maple Leafs in the standings, this was kind of a must win for the Leafs. Spoiler alert: It was not a good game for the Leafs; minus the second period. Campbell got pulled, but Big Save Dave looked pretty good. Terrible game for the defensive pairing of Muzzin and Holl. John Tavares played well, as did the young fella Nick Robertson. Auston Matthews (Rest day) and William Nylander (COVID protocol) did not play. Leafs lose 5-2... I only used 7 seconds of the song but music credit to MIA - "Paper Planes"
Today the Toronto Maple Leafs took on the Calgary Flames. Morgan Rielly got his 300th career point, while Alexander Kerfoot got his 50th career goal. Both may have been overshadowed though; by David 'Big Save Dave' Rittich's first start for the Leafs, which was against his old team, the Flames. Calgary's Milan Lucic played his 1000th career game as well. It's was a typical Sutter low scoring game and end up with the Maple Leafs losing in overtime.
Tonights game of the Toronto Maple Leafs vs the Ottawa Senators, Jack Campbell is going for an NHL record! It certainly was not a perfect game as the Senators tallied 5 and the Maple Leafs tallied 6, but a win is a win! The Leafs goal scorers is a shorter list than expected as Auston Matthews gets himself a Hat trick! Mitch Marner, Ilya Mikheyev added a goal each and Hyman being classic Hyman added an empty netter! Connor Brown extended his scoring streak to 7 games tonight getting one for the Sens. Spoiler alert: Jack Campbell now holds the NHL record for consecutive win from the start of a season, with an 11-0-0 record! Leafs win!
