MLB: fans leave stadium after shots heard during Padres-Nationals game
The game Major League Baseball game between the San Diego Padres and Washington was suspended in the sixth inning on Saturday night after a shooting outside Nationals Park. The gunshots caused panic among fans inside the stadium, some of whom ducked for cover, hiding underneath tables and behind seats as announcers warned people to stay inside the park. The shooting, an exchange of gunfire between people in two cars, left three people injured, according to the police. '[It’s] just underlying racism, and treating people like they’re in a human zoo,' Kyrie Irving said after a water bottle was thrown at him following Brooklyn’s 141-126 victory over the Celtics on Sunday night. As Irving walked off the court, he was nearly hit by a bottle thrown from the stands. Police quickly surrounded a man before leading him out in handcuffs. 'Your mother wouldn't be proud of you throwing water bottles at basketball players, or spitting on players or tossing popcorn,' Nets forward Kevin Durant said: 'So grow the fuck up and enjoy the game. Six sixes in six balls: Kieron Pollard becomes third batsman to produce perfect over
Kieron Pollard of West Indies has become the third batsman to score six sixes in one over in international cricket. His feat came during a four-wicket win against Sri Lanka in the opening tie of a four-match Twenty20 series in the Caribbean. The spinner Akila Danajaya was the unfortunate victim, having taken a hat-trick in his previous over. Pollard took the score from 62 to 98-4 in six deliveries. The world No 2 took on Spain's Rafael Nadal, clinching victory 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) to level to tie after Roberto Bautista Agut beat Dusan Lajovic in straight sets. The final and decisive doubles match saw Serbia's Viktor Triocki partnered with Djokovic take on Pablo Carreño Busta and Feliciano López. The Serbs clinched the tie in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
