Anything but Football Episode 7: Recap of Rutgers/Northwestern and Illinois Preview
Anything but Football Episode 7: Recap of Rutgers/Northwestern and Illinois Preview

The Buckeyes are currently riding a nice two-game winning streak as they secured victories over a highly ranked Rutgers team and avenged their first loss to Northwestern this past week. No CJ Walker allowed Jimmy Sotos to step in place and help the Buckeyes get a nice win over Rutgers. However, Sotos went down and gave Meechie Johnson Jr. an opportunity to take Sotos' place. Matt and Mick gave their breakdowns of the big wins for Ohio State and talked about how the Buckeyes looked excellent on the boards at the RAC vs Rutgers. After that, both gave their analysis on how Duane Washington and co. were able to get buckets on an off night for EJ Liddell. Mick gave some insight into the Buckeyes basketball recruiting world at the end and told us about what Ohio State fans should expect of Bruce Thornton. Anything but Football is hosted by Buckeye Scoop insiders Matt Goldman and Mick Walker. It is also apart of the Buckeye Scoop radio network.

Chalk Talk: What Went Wrong For Ohio State's Defense vs Alabama?
Chalk Talk: What Went Wrong For Ohio State's Defense vs Alabama?

You don't have to be an Xs and Os guru to know things did not go according to plan for the Ohio State defense against Alabama in the National Championship Game. But it's nice to have one around to explain *WHY* things went so poorly. Buckeye Scoop's Ross Fulton joins host Tom Orr to answer that question and much more. Why did the Buckeyes dedicate so many resources to stopping the run when they were getting gashed so badly through the air? Why didn't they play more nickel personnel to get speedier players on the field? And how on earth did Tuf Borland get matched up in space against one of the fastest players in the country, DaVonta Smith? Answers to all of those questions, plus what do the Buckeyes need to do in order to improve the defense before this fall, and will Urban Meyer succeed in the NFL with the Jaguars?

Anything But Football Episode 5: Recapping the Rutgers win/Northwestern loss, and Nebraska preview

The Buckeyes had an up and down week with a big victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights who were ranked #11 in the nation at the time. Matt and Mick discuss where Ohio State shined and how they took advantage of the injuries the Scarlet Knights endured and their foul trouble. After, the duo talked about the struggles Ohio State faced during their 71-70 loss to Northwestern and why the Buckeyes could not come away with a victory in Evanston. Lastly, Matt and Mick chatted about the upcoming matchup vs Nebraska and how this is a must-win game for the Buckeyes. Anything but football Episode 4: Recapping the loss to Purdue, previewing UCLA

This week on episode 4 of Anything but Football, Matt Goldman flies solo this week after Mick, unfortunately, could not make it. In this episode, I discuss how Ohio State had a lackluster performance in their first loss of the season to Purdue 67-60. I talk about the highs and lows of both starting 5’s and how the bench players for Ohio State did not contribute as Purdue did which helped secure the win. Also discussed is a preview of the upcoming matchup against UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic on Saturday at 4:15 pm and how this will be a big test for the Buckeyes before they continue regular-season action. Anything but Football comes out weekly on the Buckeye Scoop Radio Network and one their YouTube page for all viewers to check out.

Would Ohio State Rather Play Alabama, Clemson, Or Notre Dame In The College Football Playoff?
Would Ohio State Rather Play Alabama, Clemson, Or Notre Dame In The College Football Playoff?

With just over a week to go before the College Football Playoff field is finalized, Ohio State still has to finish making their case with a win over Northwestern. But assuming the Buckeyes take care of business in Indianapolis, who would they want to face in the College Football Playoffs? Jared from the Sloopcast joins host Tom Orr to run through some possible scenarios. Which team would the Buckeyes most like to avoid in the first round, and which matchups seem a little less daunting? Plus a preview of some of the most intriguing games on the schedule for this weekend, including the annual clash of Army and Navy.

Ohio State Wins Big Ten East, Here's What Happens Next

In this episode of the Buckeye Weekly podcast, Tony Gerdeman and Tom Orr discuss the Big Ten's decision to change their long-standing rule about a team needing to play six games to be eligible for the Championship Game. Is this the Big Ten just bending the knee to the Buckeyes or is this the correct decision? They also discuss how much longer Ohio State should continue to put up with the Big Ten and whether or not OSU should finally just leave the Big Ten altogether. Much more is discussed throughout the show, including the softness of Notre Dame's schedule.
