Winning Scrum Penalties: The Other Way! | Leicester Tigers v Bristol Bears | Rugby Analysis
Winning Scrum Penalties: The Other Way! | Leicester Tigers v Bristol Bears | Rugby Analysis

Scrums have become a huge source of penalties and Bristol Bears have benefitted more than most from winning penalties at scrum time. But, what's the other way scrums can be used to win penalties? This short video looks at Leicester Tigers v Bristol Bears in the Gallagher Premiership 2021 and the use of a 2nd phase play that aims to either break the line or catch the defence offside. Piutau and Randall combine to get front foot ball before Randall then changes direction going back to the scrum players with John Afoa catching and feeding Connors. The attack doesn't come to anything, however, Bristol do win the penalty! ►Support my content on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/GDDCoaching ►SUBSCRIBE for new video notifications: https://www.youtube.com/c/GeraintDaviesGDD ►Twitter https://twitter.com/daviesGDD ►YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/GeraintDaviesGDD The video match footage is not in any way owned by myself - credit goes to the Gallagher Premiership. Leicester Tigers v Bristol Bears - What Happened At That Scrum? | Rugby 2021
Leicester Tigers v Bristol Bears - What Happened At That Scrum? | Rugby 2021

This has to be one of the most curious endings to a rugby match! Leicester Tigers have Bristol Bears on the ropes in the Gallagher Premiership encounter at Welford Road, but a yellow card see's things get rather mixed up with John Afoa due to come back on. John Afoa, having been taken off as a tactical substitution needs to come back on in order to keep the scrum contested. If he doesn't then the scrum becomes uncontested, which might suit Bristol as they've conceded so many penalties already. Pat Lam and Steve Borthwick have an interesting discussion on the sideline! This video is intended to simply provide some insight into what happened, not to cast judgement. That way you can make up your own mind! Did Keith Earls score the Six Nations best try? Rugby Analysis Ireland v England 2021 Highlights GDD

Ireland finished a difficult Six Nations with a convincing 32-18 win over England. But was Keith Earls outstanding 1st phase strike play off a lineout the best try of the Six Nations 2021? This video takes you through the details to help you make up your own mind! Jack Conan also scored a wonderful try, a multi phase period of play that included a cross field kick from Johnny Sexton, an incredible aerial take from Keenan and more than enough grunt too! But it's Keith Earls try that I focus on here while also looking at how Ireland defend to create the opportunity in the first place. Henshaw was pivotal in the defensive phase and makes 2 really important tackles. Are Wales Back? Have England Fallen off the Rails? Rugby Analysis - Wales v England Six Nations GDD
Are Wales Back? Have England Fallen off the Rails? Rugby Analysis - Wales v England Six Nations GDD

Wales v England is always a massive match for both teams, and this years Guinness Six Nations encounter at the Principality Stadium was one to remember! Wales beat England by a record score of 40-24 and never really looked like being troubled by Eddie Jones' men. But are Wales back to their best? And have England fallen off the rails? This video explores the tactics used by both teams to try and manipulate, out fox, and out wit their opponents. Dan Biggar was mercurial with the boot and that made a huge difference to Wales's position going into half time just ahead. But there's no doubt most people will want to talk about Dan Biggar and his crossfield kick to Josh Adams and Liam WIlliams try following a bit of juggling from Louis Rees-Zammit! Owen Farrell will come under some fire but there's possibly questions regarding the 8 penalties conceded by Maro Itoje! #SixNations #RugbyAnalysis ►Support my content on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/GDDCoaching ►SUBSCRIBE for new video notifications: https://www.youtube.com/c/GeraintDaviesGDD ►Twitter https://twitter.com/daviesGDD ►YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/GeraintDaviesGDD The video match footage is not in any way owned by myself - credit goes to the Six Nations.
