HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Fulham (2-1) | Odegaard and Gabriel make it four wins from four!
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Fulham (2-1) | Odegaard and Gabriel make it four wins from four!

A late Gabriel goal five minutes from the end ensured we extended our winning start to the campaign to four games as came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1. Aleksandar Mitrovic had put the visitors in front early in the second half, but we found our way level when Martin Odegaard netted eight minutes later. But on 85 minutes the Brazilian defender finished from close-range to ensure a happy ending to Mikel Arteta’s 100th Premier League game as a manager. Unlike our rip-roaring start against Bournemouth last weekend, the first half was a quiet affair with chances were at a premium, despite us getting in plenty of promising positions within the Fulham half. Our first decent opportunity arrived on 15 minutes when Granit Xhaka shot wide after some neat play between Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus, and it would take another quarter of an hour for Bernd Leno to be concerned again when Gabriel Martinelli saw a wicked corner strike the top of his crossbar. The German shot-stopper was back in familiar surroundings and was called into action again a few minutes later to deny his former teammate Bukayo Saka scoring after he raced through on goal, but Leno saved with his feet, while at the other end Aaron Ramsdale found himself relatively underworked during the opening 45 with Andreas Pereira ballooning a shot well over with the visitors’ best opportunity of the half. However, what the first half lacked, the second made up as both teams came out of the interval with added threat. Bobby De Cordoba-Reid flashed a header over before Mitrovic also miscued with a shot from distance, and then twice in two minutes Leno was called into action, firstly pushing away an Odegaard drive before stretching to claw a Jesus effort away from the bottom corner. But back came Fulham to ultimately break the deadlock on 55 minutes. Gabriel hesitated to pick a pass out from the back, and Mitrovic pounced, scooping the ball off the defender and tucking it past Ramsdale in front of the celebrating away fans. That setback saw Arteta shuffle his pack as he added some more attacking threat in Eddie Nketiah, and the positivity paid off eight minutes later as we pull level again when Saka slipped a pass in or Odegaard, who saw his shot deflect off Tosin Adarabioyo and decisive Leno. Both teams could sense a win was in the offing, and Ramsdale showed great reactions to push away a powerful Mitrovic header from a corner before Ben White’s excellent block thwarted De Cordova-Reid, and Nketiah flashed a shot just wide after cutting inside from the right before hitting straight at Leno when picked out by Gabriel Martinelli as the game entered the final 10 minutes. We continued to crank up the pressure and Martinelli saw a fierce curling shot flicked wide by the head of Adarabioyo, but with five minutes to go we got ourselves in front. A Martinelli corner caused havoc in a congested box and Leno failed to claim the ball which dropped at the feet of Gabriel who lashed it home to atone for his error, and after a VAR check for a possible handball, the goal was given to the relief of the majority of the Emirates. But the win was only secured when Ramsdale again pulled off a superb save to prevent Nathaniel Chalobah from grabbing a late equaliser, and maintain our 100 per cent record. #arsenal Subscribe to the Official Arsenal YouTube Channel: https://arsn.al/youtube Follow us on Facebook: https://arsn.al/facebook Follow us on Twitter: https://arsn.al/twitter Follow us on Instagram: https://arsn.al/instagram Follow us on TikTok: https://arsn.al/tiktok This is the Official YouTube channel for Arsenal Football Club. HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Leicester City (4-2) | Gabriel Jesus (2), Xhaka, Martinelli
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Leicester City (4-2) | Gabriel Jesus (2), Xhaka, Martinelli

The game may have been played amidst a heatwave, but it was Gabriel Jesus who was on fire as he netted twice on his home debut to help beat Leicester City in a topsy-turvy encounter. The Brazilian striker opened his account for us with two goals in the opening 45; the first a sumptuous piece of play that saw him chip the ball into the top corner from inside the area, before he nodded in from close range 13 minutes later to put us in control. And despite a Wiliam Saliba own goal halving the deficit, we bounced back within two minutes thanks to Granit Xhaka, and repeated the trick again when Gabriel Martinelli netted moments after James Maddison had once again given the visitors hope. That proved to be enough to secure a second successive win at the start of the season, and kick our campaign off in the perfect fashion. The game kicked off with temperatures in the mid-30s, but we were indebted to the coolness of Aaron Ramsdale just three minutes in when Wesley Fofana linked up with Jamie Vardy to glide into the box, but our number one stayed big to repel the defender’s shot. Perhaps due to the conditions chances were initially at a premium, but we gradually began to dictate proceedings. Firstly, Jesus rippled the side-netting with a header from a Gabriel Martinelli free-kick, and then Bukayo Saka clipped a perfect pass towards Xhaka at the back post, but his header struck the woodwork. But on 23 minutes, we did get on the scoresheet as Jesus opened his Emirates Stadium account in sublime style. He began to move on the left before finding Martinelli, who wriggled his way into the area to pick out Xhaka, who laid the ball back to Jesus. The striker stopped it dead, before quickly and casually chipping the ball over the 6’3” frame of Danny Ward into the top corner from 10 yards out to send our supporters wild. That piece of champagne football came just before the first scheduled water break which briefly slowed down proceedings, but 10 minutes before half-time Jesus doubled his tally with a much more routine finish than his first. A dangerous corner from Martinelli forced Vardy to inadvertently flick the ball backwards, and Jesus was perfectly placed to nod home from a couple of yards out. Jesus was thriving and twice in quick succession he had chances to complete a hat-trick - firstly latching onto a long ball by Ramsdale, spinning past Jonny Evans and was only denied by a well-timed tackle by Wilfred Ndidi, and then moments later he was played in by Martinelli only to see Ward smother his effort. But despite our dominance of the first half, it looked like we may harshly see our lead halved from the penalty spot when Vardy raced onto a Castagne pass and initiated contact with the onrushing Ramsdale. Darren England pointed to the spot, but after being instructed by VAR to look again via the monitor, he reversed his decision. That ensured we escaped into the interval with our two-goal lead intact, but just eight minutes into the second half the Foxes saw their deficit reduced when a long ball by Evans was flicked goalwards by James Justin, and Saliba could only watch as his attempted header back to Ramsdale creeped into the net. That could have sent nerves jangling right around the ground, but just two minutes later we showed great character to make it 3-1. Ben White saw his cross fumbled by Ward right into the path of Jesus, who laid the ball off to Xhaka to grab a deserved goal. But the Foxes wouldn’t quit and with 16 minutes remaining Maddison linked up with Kalechi Iheanacho on the right, and the Nigerian switched the ball back to the playmaker who drilled the ball between Ramsdale’s legs from a tight angle. However, once again we showed excellent courage to go back down the other end and restore the two-goal cushion. Martinelli started and ended the move, winning back possession in the middle of the park, getting back into space and when found by Jesus, he steadied himself before unleashing a low inch-perfect strike into the bottom corner to score in his third consecutive Premier League game. With 10 minutes remaining Jesus looked destined to complete his treble when Saka forced Ward to save with his feet, but the rebound proved too tricky for the hitman to keep on target, and despite Thomas Partey and Eddie Nketiah going close late on, enough had been done to secure six points from six. #arsenal Subscribe to the Official Arsenal YouTube Channel: https://arsn.al/youtube Follow us on Facebook: https://arsn.al/facebook Follow us on Twitter: https://arsn.al/twitter Follow us on Instagram: https://arsn.al/instagram Follow us on TikTok: https://arsn.al/tiktok

HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Sevilla (6-0) | Gabriel Jesus scores a hat-trick on Emirates Stadium debut!
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Sevilla (6-0) | Gabriel Jesus scores a hat-trick on Emirates Stadium debut!

We finished our pre-season campaign in fine style by thrashing Sevilla 6-0 to claim the Emirates Cup, with Gabriel Jesus making an instant impression on his new supporters by grabbing a hat-trick. A capacity crowd were treated to four goals in the opening 20 minutes, courtesy of braces from Bukayo Saka and Jesus, with the Brazilian striker completing his treble on 77 minutes before Eddie Nketiah got in on the act in the final minute. The performance, clinical finishing and clean sheet ensured it was a wonderful afternoon’s work for Mikel Arteta’s men, who look well-prepared for the Premier League starting in six days’ time. The atmosphere was buoyant at Emirates Stadium before kick-off, which only increased during the opening 20 minutes as we ran riot and found the net four times to stun our opponents. The scoring began in the 10th minute when Martin Odegaard clipped a ball over the top for Saka to chase, who was inexplicably pushed over by Karim Rekik, leaving referee Andy Madley no option but to award a penalty, which Saka stroked home. The lead was swiftly doubled two minutes later when Ben White’s crossfield pass picked out Jesus on the left touchline, who then found Granit Xhaka. After edging his way into the box, his low cross was parried by Bono into the path of the onrushing Jesus, who had the simple task of tucking the chance away. And after giving the majority of supporters their first glimpse of his famous telephone celebration in Arsenal colours, he was at it again two minutes later. Again the threat came down the left but this time through Gabriel Martinelli, and with the Sevilla defence sleeping, a teasing cross allowed Jesus to race in behind and dispatch the delivery into the net. Sevilla had completely lost their heads, and that was typified by our fourth goal. A routine pass back to Bono saw the goalkeeper fluff a weak clearance straight to Saka, whose first-time effort trickled through the shot-stopper’s legs to cap off an incredible start. Glee was spreading around the stadium, and none more so than on the pitch, with Arteta’s team producing plenty of slick passing and looking threatening every time they entered the final third. During a couple of rare forays forward for the visitors in the first half, Youssef En-Nesyri flashed a shot just wide before heading straight at Aaron Ramsdale - a feat Thomas Partey repeated following a corner, before a remarkable half ended with Bono clawing back some redemption by making a double save to deny both Jesus and Odegaard, and then denying Martinelli one-on-one. It was a much tighter affair immediately after the break, with Rekik heading a corner just wide 10 minutes after the restart, but we were working through the gears again and after Jesus dragged an attempt from 25 yards wide, Oleksandr Zinchenko picked out Odegaard in the box but he blasted over. Midway through the second half there was almost a delightful goal to cheer when Partey chipped a ball over the backline for Xhaka, and his side-footed volley narrowly missed the top corner, but on 77 minutes the long wait for another goal ended. A Martinelli corner caused havoc as Gabriel forced Bono into a close-range save, but Jesus was on hand to drive home the rebound, complete his treble and register his seventh goal in just five pre-season outings. White almost put the cap on the result when a clever free-kick routine saw him attempt to lob Bono but it drifted wide, but in the final minute a sixth was added when Xhaka showed good skill to play in Martinelli, and after carrying the ball 40 yards the Brazilian unselfishly squared to Nketiah to complete the rout. The final whistle was greeted with rapturous applause by those in attendance, who stayed to watch Odegaard get his hands on the Emirates Cup trophy to mark our sixth triumph in the competition’s history. HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Chelsea (4-0) | Gabriel Jesus, Odegaard, Saka, Lokonga | USA 2022
HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal vs Chelsea (4-0) | Gabriel Jesus, Odegaard, Saka, Lokonga | USA 2022

A thoroughly deserved win over Chelsea was the perfect way to round off a successful pre-season tour to the USA. We looked to take charge of this Florida Cup match from the first whistle, and unsurprisingly it was Gabriel Jesus who put us ahead with his fourth goal of pre-season. Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka ensured we had a scoreline befitting of our performance, adding our second and third either side of the interval. Playing the third and final game of tour, we looked sharp from the off, creating the first clear chance after just five minutes. Defending a corner, Gabriel Martinelli nicked the ball on the edge of his own box and sprinted forward on the counter-attack, in a move very reminiscent of his famous goal at Stamford Bridge in January 2020. This time however he elected to pass to Saka on the overlap, and his shot was saved by Edouard Mendy. We continued to look the more likely scorers in the opening exchanges. Oleksandr Zinchenko – on his first appearance for us – was getting forward well on the left and had a shot charged down when he found space inside the box. Shortly afterwards though we did get the goal our pressure merited, and what a finish it was. Granit Xhaka fired a first-time pass into the path of Jesus, who advanced on the keeper and casually dinked the ball over him for the opener. The second was another well worked goal. Martinelli held onto possession just long enough for Odegaard to make his run into the box, before slipping the ball into his path. The captain did the rest, sliding his shot low into the corner. It was one-way traffic in the first half. Thomas Partey was the next to go close, shooting just over from 20 yards out. Odegaard, Saka and Jesus were beginning to enjoy themselves, with some wonderful one-touch passing and flicks – much to the delight of the vocal Arsenal support in the sell-out 63,000 capacity Camping World Stadium in Florida. Despite our dominance in the opening 45 minutes, Chelsea so nearly pulled one back before the break, but Mason Mount’s effort struck the upright. We kept up the tempo in the second half, and shortly after the hour mark we made it 3-0. Martinelli drew a diving stop from Mendy on the volley, it fell to Granit Xhaka who flicked the ball up before firing another shot at the Chelsea keeper. But it was third time lucky as Saka thumped home the rebound into the roof of the net. Mikel Arteta sent on Marquinhos for his non-competitive debut, on the right wing, as Sambi Lokonga got in the act in the closing stages with a composed header at the far post, helping us to seal a comfortable win. At the final whistle we were presented with the Florida Cup, ensuring a memorable 10-day trip to America ended on a high. #arsenal #gabrieljesus #bukayosaka Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more. HIGHLIGHTS | Arsenal v Everton (2-0) | Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka | Charm City Match

Gabriel Jesus continued his goalscoring start to life at Arsenal, netting the first in a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton in Baltimore. The Brazilian fired home at the far post from a corner, before setting up Saka for the second. Playing at the home of NFL side the Baltimore Ravens, our supporters far outnumbered their Everton counterparts, and created a fantastic atmosphere in the 70,000 capacity stadium. After a fairly quiet opening 10 minutes we gradually upped the tempo, and Jesus forced a good low save from Jordan Pickford before Granit Xhaka glanced a header against the post from a corner. At the other end Matt Turner had his palms stung by a Niels Nkounkou strike at the near post – to chants of “USA, USA” from the crowd. Just after the hour mark we took the lead, and it was that man Jesus again. Fresh from his brace against Nurnberg last weekend, the Brazilian made no mistake when an inswinging Cedric cross looped over Pickford and fell to him at the far post. He took a touch, steadied himself then fired home right-footed. Moments later Jesus created the second for Bukayo Saka. His clipped pass forward was intended for Gabriel Martinelli, but fell all the way for Saka to tuck home at the far post. Two goals in the space of three minutes had put us well in control at the half-time break. Mikel Arteta made half a dozen subs at half-time, with the boss switching to three at the back. We continued to dictate the play, but without adding to the scoreline. All in all though it was another excellent workout, as we made it three wins out of three so far in pre-season. #arsenal #gabrieljesus Enjoy match highlights, training and behind the scenes to get closer to the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Vivianne Miedema, Nicolas Pepe, Leah Williamson, Bernd Leno, Nikita Parris, Mana Iwabuchi, Jordan Nobbs, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kim Little, Gabriel Martinelli, Aaron Ramsdale, Beth Mead, Ben White, Thomas Partey and more.
