KAIZER CHIEFS VS ORLANDO PIRATES SOWETO DERBY DSTV PREMIERSHIP Stuart Baxter’s Kaizer Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby on Saturday at 15:30 at the FNB stadium as the two Soweto giants will be looking to secure maximum points. Kaizer Chiefs were gaining momentum scoring goals & picking up points as Keagan Dolly was at the heart of all things good for Kaizer Chiefs until Kaizer Chiefs faced Stellenbosch in their previous encounter where they lost 1-0 to Stellenbosch. Keagan Dolly will be looking to bounce back and inspire Kaizer Chiefs as he plays his first ever Soweto derby. Orlando Pirates have been lukewarm however did manage to pick up all three points against Sekhukhune united as they won 2-1. Can Mntambo inspire Orlando Pirates to a win? It it’s the Soweto Derby in the DStv Premiership as Kaizer Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates.

KAIZER CHIEFS 0 - 1 STELLENBOSCH DSTV PREMIERSHIP Kaizer Chiefs had a good start as they created chances early on however just couldn’t convert especially Parker as he couldn’t get his header on target as he failed to connect with the ball, then had a shot saved. The clear chance was Cardoso at back post where he should’ve scored. Both teams had spells of possession however couldn’t penetrate through build up play as both teams were compact without the ball however Stellenbosch grew into the game & whenever they played the ball in behind got Du Preez he was a threat and had his first shot saved,Mendieta also started coming into the game with good touches and run past a few Chiefs players and had a good shot on target which was saved. Stellenbosch started to move the ball with purpose and a deep pass from midfield into Du Preez was going to be the pass that set up Du Preez as Cardoso failed to close down Du Preez and he banged one top corner. Stellenbosch finished the stronger side of the two in the first half. Going into the second half Stellenbosch sat deep and defended very well. Kaizer Chiefs created chances however just couldn’t convert their chances on the day. It is Kaizer Chiefs 0 - 1 Stellenbosch as Stellenbosch pick up another 3 points and are now tied with Mamelodi Sundowns on 19 points.
MTN 8 2021 FINAL #MTN8 #MTN82021FINAL CAPE TOWN CITY 1 - 1 MAMELODI SUNDOWNS It was 1-1 after 120 mins as both sides showed off their great game models as both teams do enjoy ball possession and instituting beautiful passing patterns which creatively penetrate in the final third. Mamelodi Sundowns started very well as they pressed well and as a result of that Kutumela pressed Feilies very well and then drove into the box & laid the ball off for Thapelo Morena who finished off. Mamelodi Sundowns proceeded to control the game and created chances however couldn’t convert them. Cape Town City grew into the game second half & Eric Tinkler made tactical changes as Cape Town City went to a 3-4-3 system which enabled them to press higher and an Onyango mistake allowed Cape Town City to pounce by Ralani getting onto the ball and playing a beautiful pass for Fagrie Lakay to finish. The game played out with Cape Town City being the more dominant as Mamelodi Sundowns struggled to control the game. The match went to penalties as Dennis Onyango & Marques made great saves during the penalty shootout.
SUPERSPORT UNITED 1 - 2 KAIZER CHIEFS DSTV PREMIERSHIP Kaizer Chiefs beat Supersport United 2-1 as Keagan Dolly set up Bernard Parker twice. Supersport United started off very well and were very comfortable on the ball however lacked final third penetration. Bernard Parker opened up the proceedings after a good buildup play which saw Keagan Dolly drop into the half space drive with the ball and slip in a well weighed pass which saw Bernard Parker finish well just before the half time. Supersport United then pulled one back with a beautiful Sipho Mbule set piece which resulted in an own goal by Njabulo Ngcobo. Second half Keagan Dolly played provider for Bernard Parker again. Kaizer Chiefs defended deep and saw out the game by ensuring that Supersport couldn’t create clear cut chances.
MARITZBURG UNITED 0 - 0 ORLANDO PIRATES DSTV PREMIERSHIP Orlando Pirates were very dominant in the first as they created plenty of clear cut chances which should’ve saw them win the game however couldn’t convert their chances on the day. Maritzburg United get a point despite being 10 man down & Orlando Pirates will be the most disappointed after dominating in the first half and Linda Mntambo having a great performance but couldn’t make it count. In the second half Maritzburg were much improved in defense and ensured they kept the clean sheet and got the point.
GOLDEN ARROWS 0 - 1 MAMELODI SUNDOWNS DSTV PREMIERSHIP It wasn’t a great display of football as Mamelodi Sundowns beat Golden Arrows 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon in KZN. Golden Arrows were the more impressive side that created so many chances & should’ve won the game but poor finishing and poor decision making in the final third saw them struggle to convert chances & a missed penalty by Michael Boy Gumede. Golden Arrows will walk away feeling the more disappointed side and Mamelodi Sundowns will take the three points and keep moving as the result is the most important thing at the end of the day.
