The Book of Kobe Bryant is an original, full-length documentary centered around the life and career of the late basketball legend. It is made up of four chapters, each of which focus on a specific notable aspect of his journey in the NBA. 0:00:01 Chapter 1, "The Air Ball" dives into Kobe's journey from a high school phenom into the NBA's youngest star, as well as the struggles that come with being the first guard drafted straight out of high school. 0:15:49 Chapter 2, "The First Ring" is the story of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal's rise to dominance in the NBA, finally overcoming their playoff struggles, and achieving their goal of winning their first ring in the 2000 NBA Finals. 0:38:00 Chapter 3, "81" is story of Kobe's struggles following the breakup of the original Lakers dynasty, and his self-realization as the game's best player over the course of the legendary 2005-2006 season. 0:52:36 Chapter 4, "The Final Rings" follows Kobe and the Lakers ascent back to the top of the NBA and their hunt to end a 7 year championship drought, as well as Bryant's hunt to establish himself as an all-time great.
