Kentucky lost to Richmond?!!! [Kentucky vs Richmond Basketball]

John Calipari warned fans Kentucky basketball's schedule might be too difficult for a young team. After watching the Wildcats fall 76-64 to Richmond in their first significant test of the season, Big Blue Nation likely agrees with him. Kentucky led by six points just more than a minute into the second half before Richmond, which received votes in the preseason USA TODAY Coaches Poll, took control of the game with a 10-0 run. The Spiders stretched their lead to double digits with 7:43 remaining and did not let Kentucky pull closer than eight points down the stretch. "Everybody was trying to score," Calipari said in his postgame radio show. "This is what goes on with young guys. They revert back to what they know, which is I’m going to get mine here, I’m going to get some baskets here.". Brandon Boston led Kentucky with 20 points on 8-of-20 shooting. Olivier Sarr recorded his first UK double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Terrence Clarke added 15 points. Kentucky shot just 30.6% from the field in the second half with 11 turnovers. After shooting just 28.6% in the first half, Richmond hit 59.4% of its shots and 5 of 13 3-pointers in the second half to take control of the game.

Oklahoma State vs Texas Southern University! [Cade Cunningham is a PROBLEM]

Cade Cunningham scored 20 points and fellow freshman Rondel Walker chipped in 19 points with three 3-pointers off the bench to help Oklahoma State beat Texas Southern 85-65 on Saturday night. Cunningham, the lone freshman selected to the Associated Press preseason All-America team, was 7 of 12 from the field.Cunningham had 21 points and 10 rebounds while Walker played just 11 minutes and went scoreless when the pair made their debut on Wednesday — a 75-68 win over UT Arlington. The Cowboys (2-0) pulled away for good with an 8-0 run early in the second half that made it 49-32 on Ferron Flavors Jr.’s 3-pointer. Selected as a first-team, all-ACC player before he played his first game, Jalen Johnson appeared worthy of those accolades for No. 9 Duke on Saturday. Freshman D.J. Steward’s play off the bench proved to be just as important for the Blue Devils. Johnson made every shot he took from the field, finishing with 19 points and 19 rebounds, while Steward led Duke with 24 as the Blue Devils held off a late Coppin State charge to beat the Eagles 81-71 in the season-opening game for both teams at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
