Etoile Du Sahel vs APR FC (4 - 0) Full Time
Zamalek bludgeons poor Tusker out of CAF Champions League. Kenya's representatives in the CAF Champions League, Tusker, have been brutally bundled out of the competition at the second round by Carthage kings Zamalek. The Kenyan champions succumbed to a 4-0 routing at the Borg el Arab stadium in Alexandria, Egypt on Friday night to exit on a 5-0 aggregate loss following their 1-0 capitulation in Nairobi last weekend. Two quickfire goals by Ibrahim Obama and Gezeiry E set Zamalek on course to the group stage as they plunged Tusker into a deeper hole whose only route out led to the second-tier Confederation Cup. Going into the match, Tusker needed a multiple-goal victory in Egypt to overturn the Nairobi loss, a near impossibility in the Carthage cauldron, and going down two goals in 22 minutes left Robert Matano's charges with a certain expulsion from the elite competition.
Mashemeji Derby: Gor Mahia extend dominance over feeble Leopards. Nineteen-time Kenyan champions Gor Mahia extended their more than five-year unbeaten streak over fierce rivals AFC Leopards as they handed the noisy neighbors their first loss of the season in a lackluster 0-1 Mashemeji Derby Derby win played at Kasarani main Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. In what was the 90th edition of the biggest rivalry in the country, a first-half strike from returning old boy Boniface Omondi is all that made the difference as K'Ogalo maintained their 100% start to the 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season. In the match that turned out to be a tale of two halves, Gor head coach Mark Harrison made wholesome changes to his squad as Malian goalkeeper Adama Keita made his debut in goal alongside former Ingwe right back Yusuf Mainge who also started. The game however got off to a slow start with both sides focusing on build-up play without a decisive edge in the final third. It took up to twenty-five minutes for the game to produce something meaningful and when it did, it ended up in the back of Ingwe's net as diminutive winger Omondi capitalized on a defensive and goalkeeping error to hand Gor the lead.

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga came off the bench to score not once, not twice, not thrice, but five times as his club Al Duhail eased past Al Sailiya 5-0 in their fourth league match to maintain a perfect start. The Kenyan International was making a comeback after missing the previous league encounter against Al Gharafa with an injury. The forward was introduced at the start of the second half for Abdulrahman Fahmi Moustafa and took him only ten minutes to open the scoring after being set up by Almoez Ali. The second one came a bit faster after the first one, doubling Al Duhail's advantage in the 62 minute, just six minutes after opening the opener, this time being assisted by Ferjani Sassi. Another six minutes later, the former Gor Mahia forward completed his hattrick off a Mohamed Alaaeldin pass, before scoring the fourth one 11 minutes later. Almoez Ali grabbed his second assist as he set Olunga for the fifth and the last of the game as Al-Duhail sealed an emphatic win. The five goals take Olunga's tally to seven goals from the two matches that he has played in, having scored a brace in their opening match against Al Khor as they won 4-1 but missed the consecutive two games. According to a Qatari publication, Staddoha, Olunga suffered an injury before the Al Arabi game which led to him missing the clash after bagging a brace in the season opener against Al Khor. Olunga's form with his club comes at a time when Kenyans will be hoping that he can replicate the same with the national team when Kenya plays a two-legged clash against Mali in their 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifier while Okumu's injury could be a blow for Harambee Stars having been a regular in defense. In Belgium, Joseph Okumu was missing out altogether for the second game in a row after missing the midweek 1-all draw against RSC Anderlecht as his team fought from a goal down in the first half to win 2-1 at fulltime.
Gor Mahia has begun their bid to reclaim the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title on the right footing after depositing three points into their account in round one after narrowly edging KCB 2-1 at the Thika Stadium. Benson Omalla struck a brace inside the opening fifteen minutes of the first half to settle the contest that saw a number of new players from either club give their new players their debuts. Prior to kickoff, Mark Harrison handed the duo of Dennis Ng'ang'a and Peter Lwassa their debut in the green robes while Boniface Omondi was thrown into the starting team after returning to the club from Wazito.
FKF-PL Champions Tusker FC are the winners of the FKF Super Cup, after edging 10-man Gor Mahia 8-7 in post-match penalties. Regulation time ended with the two sides tied at 1-1, but Fred Nkata, Alpha Onyango, and Ernest Wendo were unable to convert their spot-kicks giving the Ruaraka brewers the trophy. Kevin Monyi and Humphrey Mieno also missed their penalties for Tusker, but newly signed goalkeeper Brian Bwire covered their mistakes, by stopping Gor’s three. Gor had their captain Haron Shakava given his marching orders early in the second half.
