The Chicago Bears (2-2) defeat the Detroit Lions (0-4) at Soldier Field in week 4 of the 2021 NFL season 24-14 behind another strong defensive effort and much improved game for Justin Fields. Bill Lazor was given the play calling duties for the Chicago Bears and nearly raked up 400 total yards of offense after one of the worst offensive performances in the Chicago Bears history. Justin Fields, who threw for over 200 yards, had some very nice deep balls to Darnell Mooney (5 catches for 125 yards) and Allen Robinson (3 catches for 63 yards). David Montgomery was ripping up the Lions defense before suffering a knee injury in the 3rd quarter that put him out for the rest of the game. David Montgomery's knee injury status is unknown. Alec Ogletree, Roquan Smith, Robert Quinn, and Khalil Mack led the defense today to holding the Lions to 14 points. Eddie Goldman returned to action and looked like he's ready to play 100%. Matt Nagy is not the answer for the Chicago Bears and needs to be fire right away. The Bears had 47 total yards of offense and gave up 9 sacks against the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland. Justin Fields may have got his first start for the Chicago Bears, but it was nothing to write home about with how his play caller did this. Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney, and David Montgomery were NOT the issues either today. The offensive line could not do anything to contain the Cleveland Browns, has they had Justin Fields running for his life. The defense did a great job, rounding up 5 sacks against the Browns, which they were the shining spot of the game for the Chicago Bears.
