No.5 (10-1) Michigan takes on No.2 (10-1) Ohio State at Noon this Saturday in the annual edition of "The Game". This is once again another opportunity for Jim Harbaugh, who is 0-5 against Ohio State, to bring Michigan to the Big Ten Championship game. This matchup pits Ohio State's elite passing offense against Michigan's underrated and potentially elite pass defense. Ohio State's passing offense is led by Heisman frontrunner QB CJ Stroud and NFL WRs Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Jaxon Smith Njigba. Michigan's pass defense is led by star Edges David Ojabo and Aidan Hutchinson along with DBs Daxton Hill and Gemon Green. Michigan did exactly what was expected of them, on paper. In reality Michigan had another slugfest bully ball game where their sheer talent overwhelmed their opponent. Listen, you can pretend all you want that yesterday was another sign that "We're baaacccckkk". We are not back. This game plan will not work against Ohio State and it might not even work against Penn State. Michigan's players played a good, sound, and disciplined game but the play calling held us back at several points. Cade McNamara went 10/18 for 168 yards and 2 TDs and even had one deep shot completed. Hassan Haskins took on responsibility for moving the ball without Corum and did so well. In the end though, the coaches have to take on the same work focused and innovative mind that our players have. I think this team will repeat the same old 9-3/10-2 season with a loss to Ohio State. Oregon has potentially blown the Pac-12's chances at breaking their four year playoff drought. The ducks lost to the Stanford Cardinals 31-24 in OT yesterday and I think it is important to discuss this as this was one of the most surprising upsets yesterday served us. Oregon's passing game and penalties were key to keeping Stanford in this game. Tanner McKee game in clutch when he needed to the most and got David Shaw his first Top 10 win since 2017. Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines struggled to make ends meet and nearly allowed a comeback by Rutgers. The Michigan offense had less then 300 total yards and only rushed for 2.9 yards per carry. My Wolverines were tested at their own home and the upcoming game against Wisconsin will show whether Michigan has learned from its mistakes. Michigan played great 1st half football, leading 20-3 at halftime. However, Michigan let Rutgers score 10 unanswered points and outgain Michigan by nearly 100 yards.
