After an almost euphoric win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, the Nets crashed down to Earth some on Monday, getting blown out by the Toronto Raptors at home. It was an ugly loss for Brooklyn who was still without their major stars. But the Raptors were missing some key players as well, making this blowout a bit tougher to stomach. The guys talk about the game and what it means to be on this kind of rollercoaster ride this season. They talk about the play of Bruce Brown of late and what he’s been bringing to the team. And they also, unfortunately, have to talk about some of Patty Mills’ struggles as well. They cap things off by looking at what James Harden has done in his first two games in Philadelphia. Cam Thomas stepped further into the spotlight in his young NBA career, knocking down a game winner late in overtime for Brooklyn at home against the Spurs. This was a familiar game script, where Kevin Durant and James Harden went to work early, and yet the team struggled to extend the lead and put away an inferior opponent. Beyond the big shot, Adam breaks down David Duke Jr's role in the starting line up, where Day'ron Sharpe still needs to improve his game and how Kessler Edwards can fill an offensive void for Brooklyn at home. After a great win over the Mavericks on Tuesday night, the Brooklyn Nets followed that up by losing a tough one to the Houston Rockets. Sure, the Nets were without Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge who rested on the second half of the back-to-back, but this still felt like one they should have pulled out. James Harden went back to Houston and played a game much like he used to in his days with the Rockets. He basically needed to considering the Nets’ personnel for the game. The Nets went with a new starting lineup but leaned into the rookies as well with Cam Thomas and David Duke Jr. getting extended run. But it wasn’t enough and the Nets came up short. The Brooklyn Nets won a big one on the road over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday in a game that very much had a playoff feel to it. Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Patty Mills were able to lead a fourth-quarter charge on offense that helped erase a double-digit Mavs lead. Kevin Durant played the entire second half in an interesting move by Nash and company. They dialed it up on that end and the defensive end as well with Nic Claxton and James Johnson coming off the bench for excellent efforts that helped slow down the Dallas attack. In all, this was a complete win for Brooklyn who bounced back from a tough loss to Chicago on Saturday. The Locked on Nets guys are breaking the whole thing down on the podcast.
