Southland Conference tournament All-Tournament team members Ashley Elrod and Keelie Arneson led the Northwestern State volleyball team in a heart-breaking 3-2 (25-19, 25-20, 13-25, 14-25, 12-15) loss to Central Arkansas in the tournament championship match, Sunday afternoon at the Dugan Wellness Center.

The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears and the Northwestern State Lady Demons squared off in the championship match of the Southland Conference Tournament on Sunday afternoon in Corpus Christi, Texas. For the first time this season, the Sugar Bears dropped two sets against an SLC foe, falling behind 2-0 before storming back to take the next three sets to win the Southland Conference Tournament for the second year in a row.

No. 1 Central Arkansas earned its second consecutive bid to the NCAA Volleyball Tournament after it held off a feisty No. 2 Northwestern State squad, 25-19, 25-20, 25-13, 25-14, 15-12 in the Southland Conference volleyball championship match at the Dugan Wellness Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Football: Southeastern Louisiana 52, Nicholls 27 (Highlights)
It took a little while for the Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana football team to get going, but once they did the No. 8/10 Lions clicked on all cylinders on the way to winning their first ever outright league title Thursday night in Strawberry Stadium. Southeastern (10-2, 7-0 Southland), which set a single-season school record for victories, shook off a sloppy first half and rolled to a historic 52-27 victory over Nicholls State (4-8, 1-6 Southland) in the River Bell Classic. The Lions scored 32 points in the third quarter to pull away, finishing with a single-game school record 702 total yards to close the regular season with a resounding victory.
CSMA Nominee: Southland Conference Football - Sam Houston State vs. Stephen F. Austin
The Southland Conference Television Network has earned a pair of nominations for this year's College Sports Media Awards, both in the live game category as part of the collegiate athletics division. Productions of the Sam Houston State vs. Stephen F. Austin football game and the volleyball championship match between Oral Roberts and Central Arkansas are up for the honor.
Baseball: Nicholls vs. Southeastern Louisiana (Series Highlights)
After falling behind big twice, the Nicholls State University baseball team rallied to make a game of it late, but the lead was too much to overcome as the Colonels dropped the finale to Southeastern Louisiana 10-9 Saturday afternoon in Hammond. With the loss the Colonels fall to 14-15 on the year and 1-5 in Southland Conference, while Southeastern remains undefeated in league play with a 21-8 overall record and 6-0 mark in the league.
Baseball: Sam Houston State 5, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 3 (Highlights and Sound Bites)
Sam Houston took an early lead and held onto it as the Bearkats defeated A&M-Corpus Christi 5-3 and won their first conference series of the year.
Men's Basketball: Stephen F. Austin 57, Sam Houston State 42 (Highlights)
Desmond Haymon had 17 points and Antoino Bostic registered his second career double-double as the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks pulled away from Sam Houston State in the second half to take a 57-42 win and claim no worse than a share of its third Southland Conference title on Thursday at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
