Josh Delaney helped take down the defending Southland Conference Men’s Tournament champion while almost taking down a long-held tourney record for three-point marksmanship. Sam Houston State’s junior guard knocked down seven treys as the Bearkats eliminated New Orleans 85-63 at the Merrell Center on Thursday, advancing to the tournament semifinals for a sixth straight season. Delaney had a chance to at least tie Marcus Anthony’s Southland Tournament record of eight thrree-pointers but finished his night well after the Bearkats had sewn up the victory.
Baseball: SHSU 8, SLU 4 (Game 7 Melt)
Sam Houston State doubled up Southeastern Louisiana 8 to 4 on Thursday afternoon at Constellation Field. The Bearkats come-from-behind win moves them to 2 and 0 in the Southland Conference Tournament. The victory gives them a spot in Friday's 4 p.m. semifinal game.

Top seed Central Arkansas finished Saturday’s Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament semifinal game in the same manner it began: dominant. An 11-0 run late in the fourth quarter allowed the Sugar Bears to pull away from a determined fifth-seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 62-44 at the Merrell Center, assuring them a berth in their second-straight tournament championship game, where they will face the winners of the Lamar-Stephen F.
