Zlatan Ibrahimovic made it 15 goals in just 17 Major League Soccer appearances for the Los Angeles Galaxy as his first hat-trick for the club inspired a thrilling win over Orlando City. The veteran Swedish striker found the net three times after half-time, including twice in the space of four minutes, to see the Galaxy to victory from 3-2 behind at StubHub Center. His intervention extended the Galaxy's unbeaten sequence to nine matches, moving them up to third in the MLS Western Conference in the process. Share this article Share It was Ibrahimovic's first hat-trick since scoring three for Manchester United in their 3-0 UEFA Europa League win over Saint-Etienne on February 26 last year.Cristian Higuita opened the scoring for Orlando on 18 minutes, picking out the gap between Galaxy goalkeeper David Bingham and his near post having combined well with Sacha Kljestan to break clear. But Giovani dos Santos levelled for the hosts six minutes before the break, taking Ibrahimovic's lay-off to drive a low shot inside the post.Orlando regained their lead shortly before half-time when Kjestan's cross from the right deflected off Galaxy defender Michael Ciani and into the net. But after the break, it was the Zlatan show. He made it 2-2 on 47 minutes when his towering header from a Dos Santos cross from the left found the top corner. However, Orlando reasserted their lead seven minutes later when Dom Dwyer headed in Mohamed El-Munir's left-wing cross. But Ibrahimovic wouldn't be denied, making it 3-3 with a thumping diving header from ola Kamara's right-side cross for his second of the game. And he completed his first MLS hat-trick, and secured the points, on 71 minutes, smashing home a half-volley following a weak defensive clearance. It leaves the Galaxy third in the standings, a point behind their local rivals LAFC in second and seven points shy of Western Conference leaders Dallas. He was signed for the future but 18-year-old Brazilian Vinicius has surprised coaches at Real Madrid's Valdebebas training ground in the last two weeks so much that they are wondering if he might be a player very much for the here and now.Flamengo knew they had something special when Vinicius played for them in the Under-20 Copinha tournament in Brazil aged just 16. He guided them to quarter-finals with four goals and five assists. He was fast-tracked to the first team after that.He signed for Madrid for £38million last year and has already shown a large part of his impressive repertoire in the July heat in the Spanish capital. Perhaps the clever flicks in the 'piggy-in-the-middle' passing drills were expected. But there is a directness to his play that Madrid coaches believe will soon be frightening the life out of La Liga defenders. His acceleration from a standing start is particularly impressive and it means when he plays down the left he can get a shot away once he has got half a yard clear of his marker. He also has the revs to get in front of opponents and so cross with the outside of his favoured right foot. For an 18-year-old the physique looks developed enough to have no problems with the demands top flight Spanish football. He has had to learn how to ride the tackles in Brazil, and Spain will be no worse. As Neymar has learned in France, La Liga is an easier ride for flair players who don't like to be touched, than most other top European leagues.Vinicius said in his press conference presentation that he has no plans to go out on loan and it seems Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui has seen enough to believe he can use the 18-year-old this season despite him being so far untried in Europe. The manager has seen a willingness to listen and learn that he likes.Vinicius said in his presentation: 'He has told me that in defensive areas of the pitch I cannot be trying to dribble my way out of trouble.'He can do the Neymar 'Rainbow kick' as well as the next Brazilian prodigy but he knows that showboating won't win over his coach. His preferred position on the pitch also suits his immediate incorporation. He likes to start on the left and run in on his stronger right side. Ronaldo has vacated that particular berth in the team. Marco Asensio will inherit it but there is no reason why Vinicius can't compete with the 22-year-old Spain international. He will be on Brazil coach Tite's radar before long. He has already won medals with the U15s with the national side and the U17s as top scorer and player of the tournament.Madrid could ye
