That was a rough loss but a great game (until overtime). Dwight Howard even hit a three pointer! Join us for a postgame analysis for the game between the Utah Jazz and the Philadelphia 76ers. #UtahJazz #76ers #TakeNote Thumbnail photo credit: Scott G Winterton, Deseret News
The Utah Jazz lost a close game to the Los Angeles Clippers Friday night and they will be playing a likely injured Lakers team on Wednesday. With the Jazz, Lakers, and Clippers all duking it out for the first seed it makes us wonder how the Jazz matchup against each team. The Lakers have more size but less depth at the wing positions (aside from Lebron James). The Jazz lack size overall so that might make it tough for the Jazz in a seven-game series but at the same time will the Lakers be able to hold off the three-point barrage from the Jazz? The Clippers pose a different problem. They have elite wing depth and a strong bench that can rival the Jazz depth. The Jazz have a weakness guarding multiple elite wings and have a tough time getting into rhythm against the Clippers defense. The good news is that when Gobert is on there is no one who can contain him on the Clippers and the Jazz have an elite offense that still plays great when it needs to improvise. Overall it's a tough decision but with the team the Jazz have and Quin Snyder running the X's and O's we feel pretty confident that barring any injuries that Jazz could win in a seven-game series. The Utah Jazz went down early to the Philadelphia 76ers tonight in the first quarter, but that did not last long. Jordan Clarkson led the team with a career-high 40 points, 19 of those coming in the first half to help the Jazz take a lead of 6 points to the half. If his performance was not impressive enough, he tied the Jazz franchise record with a total of 8 made three-pointers. Donovan Mitchell (24) and Joe Ingles (20) both did their part to help the Jazz have one of their better offensive nights of the year. After struggling from behind the arc the last few games, Utah went 18-45 for 40 percent, compared to Philadelphia’s 8-23 shooting. Ben Simmons led the game with 42 points, showing why he is an all-star, but 19 of those came in the first quarter, and the Jazz defense slowed him down the rest of the game. Tobias Harris was also on fire, scoring 36 on 3-5 from three. In the end, Utah’s 6 players in double digits were too much for the 4 players in double digits for Philadelphia to handle. Donovan Mitchell led the Utah Jazz to what ended up being a dominant win over the Miami Heat with a game-high 26 points. While the Jazz had what can only be described as an abysmal start, quickly going down by 9 points in the first quarter. They got back into the game with their solid defense (and just bad offense from the Heat) and were able to take a 5-point lead to the half. Utah came out on fire to start the third, holding Miami scoreless for the first 6 minutes of the second half while putting up 16 points over the same span. That would be their largest lead of the night, and while Miami kept on fighting, they never got it back to single digits. The Jazz frankly had a terrible night from three-point range, shooting 26 percent, but they were able to take advantage of the Heat’s inability to guard the interior and shot 46 percent from the field overall. They also struggled with 17 turnovers, but a win is a win, especially on the second half of a back to back. Don't forget to comment, like, subscribe, and share with your friends! The Utah Jazz have the best record in the NBA but people still don't think they have a legit shot a championship this year. In this episode, we go over some of the excuses people are making for why they don't think the Jazz will win and we counter them. We talk about if it's possible to win a championship in the NBA without a top ten player on your team (the Spurs did it in 2014). We also address comparisons between the Utah Jazz and the 2015 Atlanta Hawks. Long story short this Jazz team is playing like they're a contender this year and Quin Snyder is probably going to win the coach of the year award if this keeps up. The Utah Jazz holds off a Detroit Pistons team who would not stop fighting, even after the Jazz took a 23 point lead to the second half. While the Jazz struggled on the offensive end when these two teams matched up in Detroit, tonight the put up a dominant 69 points in the first half before slowing down the second. Donovan Mitchell found his stroke after a poor game against Denver on Sunday, going off for 35 points on 4/7 from three. Rudy struggled, not getting double-digit rebounds for the second game this season. This was one of Utah’s worst rebounding games of the year, losing the battle and giving up 11 offensive boards. This was a great game for the Jazz after the loss against the Nuggets on Sunday. While most of the game was garbage time, props to the Pistons for never giving up. The Utah Jazz extended their win streak to 11 with another dominant win over the Dallas Mavericks. Bojan Bogdanovic led the Jazz with a season-high of 32 points, followed by Mike Conley's 22 points. On a historical note, Joe Ingles passed John Stockton for most three-pointers in a Jazz uniform all time. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 25 points. Altitude and players returning from COVID quarantine didn't help, but this Mavs team has a lot of work to put in to reach their potential.
