Rugby doesn't get much better that this! Saturday's game was an epic battle between two teams that saw that Highlanders lead going into the sheds at halftime 17-14. Unfortunately a clinical Crusaders side pulled away in the last 10-minutes of the match to defeat the home team 40-20. The game was much closer than the scoreline suggests and both Aaron Smith and Shannon Frizell put in black jersey worth performances.
The Highlanders put on a a stellar show in Invercargill in their last regular season game on 2019. Drawing inspiration from 100-gamer, Liam Coltman, they were ruthless in their 49-12 win over the Waratahs in front of a boisterous crowd in the Southern-most Super Rugby city, Invercargill.
Another draw to end our home season in Dunedin. The Bulls fought back to a 24-all draw after a lengthy overtime where neither team wanted the game to finish. Thank you to all our faithful fans in Dunedin who supported us throughout the season. We're looking forward to our next game and the final game in the regular season at Rugby Park Stadium, Invercargill and seeing our Southland fans next week!
#YourLanders have put on a clinic in Tokyo to keep the Sunwolves scoreless for the first time and cross for eight tries to win 52-0.
